Id say he is just pushing for another year. Trying to secure his future. At the end of his next contract he will be in that uncomfortable early 30's bracket where contracts are hard to negotiate.

Fev loves the club. I cant see him leaving for Melbourne.

If goes elsewhere i am sure we will be compensated nicely.

I actually think we should offer him $700,000 a year, making it 2.1 million instead of 2 million.

Im sure other cashed-up clubs would offer him even more than that. Gotta remember he has other value apart from being just about our only goal-kicker and a champion full-forward, like Judd, he is the face of the club and a fan-favourite who also brings money into the club from membership, sales etc.

Id be happy giving him 700,000 a year. But as good as he is, he cant expect much more than that with his sometimes erratic behaviour. If he was a great leader like Judd im sure we'd offer him more than what we have.

In the Herald Sun he describes Murphy as someone who will win the brownlow, Gibbs as our future captain and Kreuzer as the next Dean Cox...why would he want to leave the club just when its on the rise, after he's been through the 6 years of hell? He's got a great chance to win a premiership with us in the next few years and he's in a place where he is comfortable, a favourite son. He has rejected behaviour clauses in contracts with us, but i recon almost all other clubs would have something like that to.

The best thing about this website is that this was posted on Wednesday last week and it took the HS four days to find out and report it on Sunday. We can always read it first on TC. :-D

i can't understand fev. he = carlton. if it's true that he can't agree on a salary, that's poor form. it's not like 100k extra a year is going to make him so much richer. wouldn't he rather get payed a bit less so it frees up room in our cap so we can chase another big-name player. this way, he is going to play better footy and he has a much bigger chance of playing in a premiership. why can't he just take a leaf out of geelong's book?

Ok as much as I love Fev, I think it's time Carlton played hard ball. Sorry Fev but it's time!

We put 550K for 2 years and 1m (veteran) for the third on the table. That is 2.1 over 3, more than plenty ... Take it or leave it Fev, your choice but that is it.

We want you to stay and see you as a Carlton man but we are building a united team where everyone is working for each other and if your in for the duration, time to sign today or look elsewhere and will help where we can.

Sorry Fev that is that.

QFT if that is what is happening and he is stalling for more money.

He can flower off if that is the case. I don't want to lose our younger players because we paid him over the odds.

Trade him and see what comes our way.

SB Whats your source on those figures?

I heard the figure wa 2m over three initially, if thats true does this mean carlton has increased their offer by 100K?

I tend to agree this should be enough money. Sadly Fev holds all the aces here given he is out of contract at seasons end. I hope that common sense prevails and he signs without holding the club to ransom.

Fev doesn't hold all the aces, believe me.
Is Fevola willing to play for Melbourne or go to Perth?
That will be the choice left for Fev.

I think you just made that up Surrey.

I think the only people who know the figures are Swann Icke Kernahan Pratt Kleiman Fev Alex.

Che sera sera...

I hope there isn't .. but then the talks with Jonathan Brown take on a whole new meaning ..

I love Fev kicking goals on the field but find it disturbing that Fev seems to be priming himself for a life in the media and Eddie calls the shots there. Eddie has a big say in Fev's image. The Footy Show thrives on controversy...
Some think the others on the Footy Show were badgering Fev about his contract last week - it seemed to me it was set up.

i wouldnt worry about that....

whats the hurry in Fev signing today?????

he wont be going anywhere unless something weird happens....(aka trade with Brown or he buggers up badly)

There is no rush to get him to sign...

its not like anyone would jump ship right now....

So whats the hurry..???Let everybody play their games... and when they are all fairdinkum the ink will be on the contract...

Split round coming up.
6 games this week, 2 the following week.
How do you fill The Footy Show when you only have 2 games to discuss?
Fev will sign middle of next week and appear on TFS on July 3.
Just my 2c.

To me the most logical explanation has to be his agent trying to make a name for himself...

I forget the name of the newly formed agency that has acquired his services, but Fev is their big grab at some attention as they try to establish themselves.

It's all about them, not about Fev or Carlton, and Fev seems to be smart enough to realize this and capitalize on it by giving them full control over this saga...

That's my 2c...

Have they signed Brown yet??

All I'm hearing is about Fev at the moment, who is the hottest unsigned property going around...
