Memo to the[Patrick Smith] who writes for one of the lowest circulating daily newspapers in Australia.

Your campaign to remove Richard Pratt has been this effective:

- Richard Pratt 16 months as Carlton President

Appoints - Greg Swann as CEO

Injects sigfnicant amounts of Corporate Sponsorshiop and Private Money into club thus turning our finances and our debt.

_ gets rid of the worst coach in Carltons history.

- gives us the credibility and resources to target and recruit the best player in the AFL.

- turns around our membership to where it should be, one of the largest Victorian AFL clubs - and to levels never before seen for the Carlton Football Club.

All that is left for you to do is take out your sword and stab yourself in the heart - (Judean People's Front Crack Suicide Squad) - that sure showed us.

Or you could fall off your roof again.

But because AMCOR has gone states evidence, they seem to have gotten off scot free. we keep getting told about the millions Pratt has made form the cartel. But zip about AMCORs complicity and profit.

Better batten down for [Patrick Smith]. He'll be writing a war and peace epic!

Turn stool pigeon and everything's legal.

Unfortunately that's the way it works. You squeal, you get off. Scott free. Bullshit system.

I must admit I haven't really followed this case closely and I respect the fact that Richard Pratt has helped the club in its hour of need.

However, am I the only TC'er who finds this blind loyalty to him a little disturbing????

I'm sure that Pratt will still be able to exert his influence - I know that certain directors have been mentored and taken under Pratt's wing - such as MH, SM, RC and ZF who will have been educated in the Pratt way of getting results

Some things to remember

1) When he 1st came on board it was going to be for 1 or 2 years

2) We are in this situation with a UNITED BOARD. It is a rare occurance in football for there to be smooth changes at the top. The last one that I remember was Dicker to Kennett at Hawthorn and that really couldn't have gone any better

3)There is no reason that the board can't use this opportunity to do exactly what they did last time and identify a suitable person who they believe that they can all work and approach them to be president.

4)This is a time of disappointment NOT upheaval

Without 'ALL' the capitals in the middle of sentences I'd really struggle to understand the point a lot of you are making.

FWIW ... Demetriou has said that he supports Carlton and this is the appropriate course of action and all Australians deserve the presumption of innocence until proved otherwise.

Hmmm - choice of the club me and my family have loved for over 50 years (3 generations of support) going down the shitter or Richard Pratt rescuing the club from oblivion.

Call me disturbing.

Frankie makes a great point though - compare the way Pratt has stood aside for the good of the club with Elliott refusing to do so.

Not sure its blind loyalty -otherwise some of us this morning wouldnt have advocated him stepping aside before it actually happened -nor would we have suggested that the charges were of the utmost seriousness
Agree there is an almost unhealthy deification of Dick IN SOME QUARTERS
Collusion on price fixing was wrong but civil penalty and he paid a hefty price
He is entitled on the criminal charges to the presumption of innocence at this time .
However if he is found guilty by the courts on criminal charges then his association with Carlton must be over in terms of Board position orotherwise

Poor Patrick Smith loses the upper hand, no more columns to write about Pratt, only a self-indulgent piece tomorrow to say he was the catalyst all along.

Facts are Patrick Smith has achieved nothing, Richard Pratt has achieved everything, returning Carlton to a power in the AFL, feared by all as the momentum grows and the army comes together as one.

What will happen if Pratt is not found guilty? Patrick Smith and Co better watch what they say in the coming days I would think.
