Its sexy.

Dunno about sexy but the white jumper is as good as you will get for a simple alternative strip - wear it with navy shorts and it will look better.

I was actually lost for words when they ran out with the white jumper last night.

I was under the impression that we wore that for the last time against Melbourne in RD 5, according to what Swan was saying at that satge of the season...

Everyone in our Carlton household included. Swan has reneged on that one.

I've not got a problem with change.

In fact, that's what I want.

Now change it back!! :-D

We might as well change the song while we're at it:

We are the poofy whites
We are the soft young poofy whites
We're the team who'll change as Jabba wants
We're the spineless club with hybrid socks

Soft as marshmallows
We look like faggots
The new white maggots

And they will know that they've been playing
Against the team that used to think that their jumper was all class and the best in the land!

You honestly think the players try harder when wearing navy blue than the white strip? Please......

No. I'm not saying that there's a change in heart or desire when the white thing is worn.

The final line of my masterpiece is what I'm on about. The best jumper of them all.

1) I prefer not to have to wear an alternate strip
2) If we must, I think it should be via a compulsory "Home & Away" system
3) If so, I think the regal purity of the Navy Blue jumper is what sets us apart. This is maintained best with the exact reverse image - navy on white, as it is now (or thereabouts). Once we start moving away from that, then we will end up with too much subjective input which is what results in the brisbane & melbourne alternate strips.
Whilst Melvey's designs are ok, I don't think they are significantly better than the all white. They still mangle the original jumper but in more ways. And they open the door to further "modifications" that will inevitably keep changing & include some VERY bad versions.

Keep it simple: Navy with white monogram & white with Navy monogram. Pure & Simple, literally.

X 2

Introducing stylistic designs and confusing patterns, (or patterns similar to existing clubs) is heading into sketchy territory and gradual iconic disintegration.

I deplore an alternative Carlton strip, but if we must then the current reverse colour scheme without changing anything elemental is as best as possible- (I must admit however that I forgot how much I hate the alternative strip when we were powering away in that truly magical final quarter yesterday :-D )

Highly unlikely the our club will wear that white jumper in 2008

I like the current alternate strip. It has grown on me. It is simple, classy and clearly CFC. If we change it like most of you suggest then we are just demonstrating that we are confused about our identity. Leave it alone.

Officials from the club have come out and said we will not wear it again.

OK that supports my argument. We are confused about our identity. We did wear it again though - over the last weekend.

We had to or cop a $100,000 fine.

I agree with you that changing it up can cause some affect to our brand and hope we don't change it up every year but just because it was the first alternative jumper we wore doesn't mean it's the right out come.

We need to get it right so we can stick with it for as ever long the AFL sees fit

Spare a thought for Bulldog - he has to wash them white things. He reckons he has to put them through the wash three times to get the stains out.

I agree with RR. The only change I would suggest would be why can't we wear it with the navy shorts?
Otherwise I agree with not messing with it too much. Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't love the white version but if we have to have one then the inverse of our classic CFC is fine with me.

And, dare I say, ignore them all, but focus on my signature, part #3. :-D

This is such a non-issue.

The guys showed against Port it is what is inside the jumper that counts.

GET OVER IT ALREADY!
