Again we find ourselves forced by the AFL to wear that all white insipid alternative jumper today. I understand the club had the jumper designed and approved by the AFL as an alternative option for season 2008. I for one prefer us not to have an all white jumper but from what I understand the AFL are holding firm on this and again will force all AFL clubs submit alternative stripes for season 2009.

Personally i can't stand the all white jumper our team runs around in. I took the time out this afternoon to design an away jumper for our beloved blues. I realised it's not as easy as it seems. I plan on sending the designs to the club.... So would anyone know to whom i should send them to??

The inspiration for the design came from year 2008 being the resurgence of the mighty Carlton Football Club back to a power house footy club and institution in Victorian and Australian. My thought was to encapsulate this significant period in our history with a touch of arrogance as us being the most successful, proud and passionate of all Victorian clubs. This is represented with a white V shaped crest and the iconic Carlton football club emblem embedded within.

Until each team plays each other the same number of times, the AFL, as a fair dinkum competition, cannot be taken seriously.

He (Mr Swann) said the honour and pride associated with the club's traditional navy blue jumper was priceless.

i thought of that but unfortunately the AFL will not budge. Honestly i just can't stand those white jumpers and if we are to have an alternative stripe get the design right now and stick with it unlike other clubs who seem to change there's each year.

In 25 or 50 years time when old footage is rolled out of yesterdays amazing comeback we wont even recognise our club in those white jumpers.

I'm not really an expert on the matter, but I think you have to create a Photobucket account, or an account on some other site that allows you to upload photos. Then you can upload your photos to that site and post the links here. Anyone who knows more than me got a better idea?

Actually, as much as I dislike the alternative jumper idea and reasoning (there's no valid argument for it), I don't mind those ones.

What about Essendon* and Collingwood's "efforts"? Did the AFL "not budge" over the issue with them?
