Sh*t luck for Paul

Quote:
Carlton's backline curse continues to haunt the club with the much-improved Paul Bower likely to miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

Bower injured his shoulder when he was heavily tackled by Geelong's Steve Johnson in last Saturday night's 56-point loss to the Cats.

After having scans earlier this week, Bower will meet a specialist on Thursday to decide on whether to have season-ending shoulder surgery.

Bad luck Paul - dont rush it get it 100% right and if it means surgery so be it, you've got at least another 200 games in front of you at the Carlton Football Club.

What he said.

Take your time getting better Paul and avoid the surgeon that did Tex's shoulder.

Can we change this threads title to 'Maybe out for season' because Ratten says if Bower doesn't have surgery it is not the season.

With Round 11 coming up, without surgery it's an 8 week recovery, meaning round 19/20 is probable return.

With 3/4 rounds after that, it might not be worth bringing him back unless we are playing Finals. 8)

What they both said.

Some interesting quotes from that article:
Quote:
The Blues have had at times been without first choice fullback Michael Jamieson (shoulder) centre half-back Jarrad Waite (suspension), tall defender Bret Thornton (knee), running half-backs Andrew Walker (shoulder) and Ryan Houlihan (hip) and stopper Jordan Bannister (hamstring).

Add Bower and that's seven players from our defence which have missed games. Astounding.

:-D

Good luck for when you play, Mark. We're all behind you.

And if that is what a totalitarian government does to Chinese Takeaway and the amount of Cuban Cigars available - it does a bang up job on ruining a perfectly good avatar as well. :P

It was a different totalitarian regime which deprived all of us of that avatar.

Spewing about that, was hoping to get 22 games out of Bower this year...
He has improved with every game.

Definetly Mark Austin time! + Joe Joe

We should have a pretty solid defense next year. 8)
