G Healey said the other night on 3AW that Richo is a certainty to be an All Australian winger this year. Healey is a selector so they probably have already made that decision. So who should go on the other wing?

I thought if Richo is the best wingmen then I should compare the stats between Richo and Simmo.

Well here they are:
Kicks
Simmo 121
Richo 136

Handballs
Simmo 77
Richo 57

Disposals
Simmo 198
Richo 193

Disposal Efficiency
Simmo 80%
Richo 68%

Contested Possessions
Simmo 55
Richo 72

Uncontested Possessions
Simmo 146
Richo 122

Tackles
Simmo 27
Richo 7

Goals
Simmo 5
Richo 27

Score Assists
Simmo 11
Richo 5

Our Simmo is having a great year on paper if we compare him against the so called best.

Picking Richo on a wing helps him make room for all the other top forwards.

We all know that richo is starting on the wing then going wherever he wants and then when he needs a breater he goes to the forward line and while there kicks his goals.

He deserves to be AA but i would not be comparing Simpson to him.

Well that is the way I operate. If I want to find out how good something is, I compare it to the best.

Would you rather me compare Simmo to Scarlet then or how about Anthony Mundine? I just thought comparing two wingmen was a pretty good start.

Sorry i didnt mean sound rude. I just think comparing richo to simpson and using one of the comparisons - goals kicked - then the comparison will be a bit off because Richo rests up forward.

Not having a go at you or Simpson for that matter.

I vote Simpson for the other wing !

I think this shows how over rated Richo is. Yes he is kicking goals, but Simmo beats him in disposals, efficiency, assists and tackles - I cannot believe they have already named Richo the All Australian wingmen.

Maybe Healey should look at these stats.

Simmo is playing good football and I like the 80% efficiency which shows he uses it very well.

All Australian selection is just as hype driven as other awards, Richo will get a gig because he's being pumped up in the media and commentary box moreso than how he actually compares to other players in the same position.

Agree, Richo cant kick for shit why do you think they are hiding him on the Wing.

This is purely a "benefit" year for Richo and they may have even hyped a Brownlow for him as well.

It's "almost" foolish to even try and compare them.

If Richo was at the Blues he'd be probably be our second highest goal scorer which highlights how much of a different role he plays to Simmo.

But hell - I'd love to see another blue in the AAs

Richo is a tough matchup because he can go back and forward and kick goals too. Makes him more dangerous.

How many other players can go with him all around the ground with his massive tank, be able to play as a defender and a forward when need be and have the height and strength to match him?

Haha. Nahhhhh.
I think it's a 3 horse race of Ablett Black and Cooney now that Mitchells ineligible. Franklin will get a lot of votes too but don't think he's in the running.

Jarrod Waite could.

dont have that much of a problem with the bradshaw>fev comment as that will come down to individual bias - statistically bradshaw/fev are virtually identical in possies/game, goals, behinds, tackles, etc

You could mount an arguement that fev benefits from the number of opportunities (I50 entries directed to him).

Equally you could mount an arguement that bradshaw benefits from having brown make space for him etc.

too close to call at this stage imho.

I think Bradshaw has a greater advantage, playing in a better side, alongside Brown.
