The key pros ARE
We DOMINATED play and the game just not the scoreboard. When we learn to turn attacks into goals easily we will go up to that next level. We flower dominated them today. If we had have had that we would've won by 10 goals

AND

WE FLOWER TACKLED!!!!!!!!!!! we had way more tackles than them. the intensity was there.. was like a different team last week. Collingwood shows what intensity and tackling can do.
We remembered to take the skirts off before running out and the boys fought today.

afterthought - SENTANTA YEEEEWWWWW BEEEEEEAAAAUUUUUTTTTEEEEEEEEEEE.
I've been having more and more doubts about him but today he was bloody brilliant.
When he went down to the rooms during the game I was actually like flower no we need him.
RATTS HE IS A BACKMAN. I want to see him settled there for good now.
I'd all but written him off before today but he was great

- Judd still only appears to be 85% fit and doesn't seem to be improving.....over 7 months after his operation.

When do people understand that players (even Judd) who have a limited preseason (and Judd did not start real training before Jan) will not play up t their best during that season. Plus Judd has not really fully recovered (eg. kicking is limited). We will not see Judd's best before next season.

Pros:
Bentick's work in the middle
Simpson's gut busting running all game
Setanta's great defensive work - I don't know why he was made to kickout though; it is unfair to give him that role
Carrazzo doing a good job on Farmer
Farmer copping plenty from the crowd
Fisher presenting more up the ground
Edwards taking 9 marks
Fev chase
Pfeiffer's hardness in the second half
Gibbs poise to get it to Stevens

Cons:
Too many times we keep kicking it to the loose man. Sandilands dropping into defence after the centre bounce and we bombed the ball straight to him. Or someone else peels off into Fev's space and we still try to get it to Fev.
Forward line pressure besides the last 15 minutes or so was terrible. We played into their hands bombing the ball in to Sandilands and co and if they the ball hit the deck we weren't able to lock the ball in. I don't know if there are any stats on this but so many of Fremantle's goals/thrusts inside 50 would have come from rebounding out of our forward line.

Lets not forget Nick Stevens & the penetration he has with his disposal is one of our key weapons. Really good game by Nicky (& eveyone else that has already been & will be mentioned.) GREAT WIN BOYS!!!!

Pro's:

We won
Team workrate all over the ground
Won without Fev kicking a bag or Judd starring
Bower, this kid really has matured this year, disposal has improved dramatically, a real attacking option.
Grigg, getting better little by little every week
Hampson & Kruezer, huge potential
Setanta is a backman please leave him there
Trying to fit Cloke, Walker, Thornton, Jamison, Bannister, Anderson, Hadley etc into that side
The 'Tank' is nearly past us
We never gave up
ALL our kids showing improvement
Looked better when we used the ball longer to position, some 50m passes in the last qtr really caught Freo out
Our so called "weak defence" keeping the opposition to ONLY 16 scoring shots in perfect conditions

Cons:

Need at least another key forward
A couple of gun mids to take pressure off Judd & Murphy
Crumbers up forward
Disposal by several players especially into forward 50
Goalkicking, won't get away with that against better sides
A few players need to start to get a bit more of the ball (Russell & Pfieffer)
Waites late hit
Umpiring, I hate that the game is becoming so touchy! First goal to Pav a classic example

Pros

Blues learning to win. It had to start sometime. For the first time in years our compass is moving north.
Stevens game.
Bentick's work in the middle - I still have doubts on him, but would never question his endeavour
Edwards efforts
Young guys in general
Effort of the team with a number of players out
Setanta's application to the task.

Cons

Freo are ordinary and were on the road
The free kick at the start of the game takes soft to new levels
Pavlich: the AFL's new Matthew Lloyd for free kicks
Waite's disposal, but you can't question his effort
Fev's kicking confidence issues

Yeah I saw that

Just got back from the game..

BOG - Bentick
WOG - Murphy

Pros:

Matthew Pavlic Screwing TWO games up with his own BOOT- twice now had had the chance to seal the game and twice posters - eat it. here please take my spoon matthew.

HAMMER + KROOOOOOZE - take that ackland, kids with DESIRE to play came out and had a go.

Edwards = was trying all day (dont drop him)

Fevs- Soccer goal

Michelle - man great goal kiddo

Browne - Again shows he will BE a good player.

Setanta - Today I thought he like switched on, Apart from the 2-3 blemishes - which he made up for. Put it this way I cringe when Bower runs ball out of defence. Not so with Santa. Good to see him have a go in the Ruck.

JR - Nearly there, Get some confidence up and actually have practice kicks at training, as we saw if u play hard you get the ball. Well done best game I thought

Bentick - secretly i was hoping he have an effect like this, was everywhere, didnt matter if he won it or not was hard all day and pushing forward Providing contest where ever he went.

Betts - what can I saw thats why I have 19 on my jersey

Judd - missing a mark in F50 - then getting smashed - regathering the ball with about 50 feos on him - then managed to get the ball out the back.. he does this more often then not.. - freak ... i love u.

The Team - Lifting when the going got tough and were down. Look what happens with a little self belief and momentum from the crowd can do. Yeehaa we won.

Fish - thought played best game all year with bentick, JR and Setanta

Stevens - finally worked in defence he he :)

Cons:

Murphy - had some poor decisions and seemed like to coast throughout the match

Missing forward options when we break away.

Unpires - again I dont care But jesus flower shite my christ can we have a free kick to our advantage not these defensive frees.

Is it me or are we allergic to using the middle ? the few times we did we nailed it. Other teams KNOW this is our achilles heel, im sick of it. Palmer destroyed us all game up there today.

Forgot to add the two chases from Browne and Russell when Freo players were running inside 50. The pressure from them forced both kicks wide for behinds.

I actually feel a bit flat after that win. Like the Demons game, we made hard work of beating a side that's on its knees. But a winisawinisawinisawin, I guess..

PROS-
* We fielded an inexperienced team and beat one of our 'bogey' sides at one of our 'bogey' venues..
* We won without a great contribution from Fev and Judd
* Bower, Grigg, Gibbs, JR and Pfeiffer all played their part
* Fev's chase down of Peake late in the game

CONS-
* Skill errors, including kicking from set shots
* Forward structure needs urgent attention
* Judd did some good things today, but his kicking for goal in the last quarter looked like that of a player that is still very sore
* Too many tackles not sticking

BTW - I'm told there was an incident in the last quarter that didn't look flash on TV (I was at the game and didn't see it) involving Waite that the match review panel might look at. Anyone see it?

Pros

- Intensity - was there most of the game and lifted when we needed it most, both early and late.
- 2nd efforts, spoiling, tackling, chasing - the direct result of the pro listed above
- Despite some errors, disposal was as good as I've seen it for a few years to be honest. Importantly, we were crisp when under pressure,
- Hard work paid off across half-forward from Fisher, Edwards, Wiggins, Betts, Simpson and Pfeiffer.
- Defensively we were outstanding - our rebound is unbelievable. Grigg, Bower and Setanta were magnificient, nothing less.
- Fev's most telling possesions were his tackles and setting up others.

Cons

- Murphy was excellent IMO, only when he is not under pressure he seems to be lazy in disposal. Rarely errs when under pressure, though.
- Not capitalising on easy chances - criminal, really, there were 7 that should definitely should have ben kicked.

In all though a promising performance. No passengers, an excellent team effort.

Yeah it was down near the members, I forgot who he hit some blonde kid I think, the guy hand balled it away and waity (and im beginning to love his fustrations) like lifted up his forearm, the kid went down faster then a brides nighty, There was contact but no harsher then maxwells hit on murphy I thought. It was about head height, I could be wrong I was following the ball and vaguely caught it.

Yeah, the person who told me about it said they think it was Mayne. Let's hope there is nothing in it... :?

I'm with you fmurphy30. He had a good game today...but I really wish he kicked a goal when the opportunity presented on a couple of occasions. Obviously several others missed easy opportunities today however I wish there was some "hurt factor" in his game.

Ratt's please let the mad Irish develop in the back line
We won a game playing well below our best
Bentik, Browne, Grigg abd Bower continue to show signs

Con -

Waite should play on the wing or forward. Waite gets alot of the ball in defence when he is allowed to play behind the ball however he gets towelled up when he has to play defensively. Luckily Setanta come back on cause when Waite had to man up he was beaten by Pavlich and Bradley.

If Waite plays back again next week you can already pencil the Ctas in for three/four goals. His decision making for a 25yr old is terrible.

Our forward line is struggling at the moment he would be great playing forward, hard to match up on and gives us another option.

I totally agree, have been asking for this all year, could be very damaging. With Setanta, Bower, Jamison, Thornton, Grigg do we need him down back?

All of the above for PROS

We were ordinary today . Our skills were shit and kicking into forward 50 diabolical.

Yet we somehow won.

But the Dockers are a disgrace
Apart from Pavlich so overrated and slow.
We should have beaten them by 5 goals.

Play like that sat night and Geelong will flog us.
