How Chris Judd got to Carlton

Quote:
One club that wasn't at the starting gate sought to crash the party. No quarter was given, but despite the involvement of Richard Pratt, Eddie McGuire and numerous other heavyweights from football and the corporate world, money and fame weren't the currencies that counted in this race.

Rubbish article.

It was much more simple than outlined in this article.

Although the sadist in me would love to admit that Didak has cost Collingwood not only Stevens, but Judd!

Well I found it a ripping good yarn with a happy ending. I laughed, I cried. The knife in the Magpie heart certainly didn't hurt the ending either :P

How Chris Judd came to Carlton,

Judd's manager Paul Connors spoke with Carlton's team manager Steven Icke (who is his best mate) and let him know that Judd was heading home way before anyone else knew, Carlton then miraculously dropped their last 11 games to sweeten the deal with the eagles come draft time.

Money talks bullshit walks, the end.

I've only read the first page and have to duck out for a bit, but...

The best part about that article is the tripe near the end, the filth being bridesmaids once again and saying they were relieved not to get him:

"As for the black-and-white bridesmaids, they consoled themselves that Judd had spared them from either a costly trade or a collapsed, controversial non-deal. Within the club, there was a measure of relief that Judd had chosen their traditional foe."

I guess they're so used to failure at the ultimate moments they now have to live in denial to make sense of their useless pathetic lives

A lovely article.

It too made me weep and laugh and cheer.

This article is so full of "people close to" and unnamed "sources", surely it must have been written by Caroline Wilson. I didn't realise it was such a slow news week.

I can't believe the papers are still rehashing the Judd trade, save it for the off season when there really is nothing going on.

What really would have been funny was the part about Collingwood trying to pimp some of the overrated "stars" to secure an early pick from Carlton or Richmond.

I read the article out loud at my place. Towards the very end someone up the back started clapping slowly. Then it began to catch on and we all clapped loudler and faster and then we all stood up applauded. The music was emotional and rousing ........the good guys won.
