Er just as likely a call as saying Scarlett better than SOS.

Ridiculous non-article.

Though we're talking about it Smile

Right - Gotcha - Agree - 'The Age' started it! - Is there a game on tomorrow? - Could have fooled me! - Courtney Johns is playing? - Wow, High Stakes! - Biggest game outside the Grand Final?? - What on earth are 'The Age' doing this week! - Oh, you mean they're writing about Scarlett to promote the Cats vs. Dockers Anzac Day clash? - Right - Gotcha - Agree - Wow, High Stakes!

SOS played on;
Dunstall
Ablett
Lockett
Lloyd
Capper (I know what you think but he kicked 100 goals)
Sav Rocca
and several others.

Many of the best forwards of our lives played on Silvagni, all with different strenghts. He had something to match them all. Not only that but SOS could be swung into Full Forward, something Scarlett may struggle with. I think Scarlett is a fine player and the fact he is being compared to SOS is a credit to him. In the end, these things are merely opinions so we will differ. SOS for mine any day.

It's impossible to rank players like this from different eras....different rules....different teams....different oppositions....SOS played on the best; the very cream of the forwards of the last 20 years probably.

Scarlett is a very good Dench type attacking, running fullback in a super strong and talented team who back him to the hilt.....but......he'd get a game at PP..... .....but so would SOS!

Parkin last night said on Fox Sport's AFL teams, that Scarlett will eventually surpass SOS.

Dementia has already set in for old Parko.

I agree about Parkin, he changes his tune each week. A few weeks ago he said we would not win a flag with Fev in the team. Last night he says he would take Fevola over Franklin… make up your mind Parko!!!

No contest on the SOS v Scarlett debate. Silvagni had a great record against the greatest full forwards of our time. The thing people tend to forget is that the ball was constantly kicked to the Ablett’s. Carey’s, Lockett’s and Dunstall’s of the day. So that meant that each game SOS was under siege from start to finish and he absolutely towelled these greats. Scarlett does not face that pressure.

Scarlett is a great attacking full back, he’ll probably finish his career as one of the greats but he certainly does not and probably will not play on the quality of forwards that SOS did.

I also remember SOS kicked 10.7 in three quarters against Fitzroy in ( I think ) 1993. Scarlet can’t do that.

I think the media is getting a little bored with how good Geelong is at the moment so they start comparing. Ableet Jnr V Ablett Snr is another good discussion. I know who I would choose.

Harry Taylor was on Pavlich for 3 of them I think you'll find.

Anyway, there is no contest... SOS is way in front. And Gary Jr got towelled up tonight. SOS used to do that to Gary Sr on a few odd occasions. Still Gary Sr the best player that I've seen.

Where is this conversation going?...

I stand to be corrected on Scarlett tonight, as I only saw bits of the last quarter.

IMHO, there's no real comparison. Just a topic to kill time.

They're going to compare SOS and Scarlett on Before the Bounce on Foxtel soon.

Danny Frawley - SOS. Had to play of 4 of the greatest players
Damien Barrett - SOS could also go forward
Jason Dunstall - SOS was the best full-back he ever played on
