You can only beat what you're put up against, so despite the meandering of the 2nd half, it was still a good win against a VFL standard side that looked like it could trouble us early in the 2nd quarter.

PROS

1. JUDD - elite

2. FEV - elite.

These two blokes are top 10 in the league players and are the reason we're winning. We need to add a few more in to the top 10 and several into the top 30 to build a real team.

3. Waite - did all that asked. Only 1 or 2 Waite-fades

4. Bannister - reward consistency so I'll whack him in the pros

5. Fisher - great when the game was still on

CONS

1. OhAilpin - gone. Out for Hartlett this week. Watched his brother yesterday too who was hopeless. The Irish experiment is almost over

2. Russel - does some OK things but puts some shocking efforts in sometimes. Not in best 22.

3. Slow ball movement - Yes, it's good at times but we need to know when to move it quickly and break the flood on Fev

4. Take Fev and Judd out and we're probably the worst side in the league again.

5. Last 45 minutes - we were absolutely lairizing. Must run 4 quarters.

Next week will be a massive indicator of where we are. Will be very interesting.

Sorry, forgot Kreuzer - he's a freak!!!!!

And another con - scotland might get rubbed out for an important game next week due to a silly incident. Stupid!

Con: Last qtr fade-out. Would have loved a 10+ goal win.

Pro: Last qtr fade-out. Means the blowtorch can be applied to the belly, and the coaching department can make sure the players are 100% aware that a fade-out like that against the better teams means we'll get overrun.

Possible the worst game where we have won that i been to.

I thought all along that we will find it hard to get our selves up after last weeks game. Crowd was flat but thats due the style of footy we play.

We are the next St Kilda. Slow ball movement, try look down play, momentum footy. I enjoyed the win but if we played half decent team we would have lost.

I thought Fev was great to kick 7 with 2 or 3 on him. Juddy is a champ

I was most impressed with Bowser.. slowly becoming my favorite player.

Grigg was shocking. I don't care how many possies he got but his decision making is horrible.

Con: Last quarter fade out

Pro: The fact that I'm slightly disapointed with our win. There is no way I would have said that at any time in the last 6 years.

Hopefully it'll be a good thing for us on several fronts: firstly proving we can not play to our best all day and still win a game, and secondly it'll give the players the wake up call they need, without completely deflating them after last week's win.

Pros:
Two in a row
Fev again
Judd again
The defence has kept the opposition under 100 pts 2 weeks in a row.
The breed lost again

Cons:
If Fev is covered what's our alternate plan going into Fwd 50?
Last qtr cut fadeout but then again we did what we had to do to win.

I think Fev proved that with 2 or 3 on him, that if he continues with second and third efforts, he can kick 7 goals in a game.

Carlos will probably miss next week in place of Harts.

Pros
Judd
Fev
Hadley
Krooz
Cloke
Backline

Cons
Carlos
Russell

Bentick disappointed me as I thought he would have tried to show more in that game.

Pros
- improvement in our defence
- kids growing in confidence
- no significant injuries
- Kruezer
- Judd getting closer to 100%

Cons
- we rely far too much on Fev to kick goals
- O'Hailpin not up to it...give Hartlett a go
- Bentick still looks too slow

Pros:
Fev and Judd...when most were standing still at HF Judd was there presenting. Not only a gun mid but a CHF too.
Jamison on Robertson
Bower's decision making keeps improving
Hadley's work in the middle
Spreading into space from kickouts

Cons:
Inability to make good decisions when Rivers continually got in front of Fev. Still bombed it long to him and we were fortunate Kreuzer and co bought the ball to ground in one on two contests. Ball rebounded a bit too easily.
Lack of intensity at times.

Pros - all of the above, bar a mention to Hadley who continues to get his hands dirty. Judd and Clayton's Fevola could not be mentioned in the positives enough.

Cons - Russell. I understand the rationality in giving him games, but diplomatically stated is just not up to it. He shirked, made poor decisions, and for a supposedly fast footballer was easily out-ran on the wing. Armfield need only leave his phone switched on over the coming weeks.

We need someone to "take one for the team" to get the required intensity.

We had a chance to bury a team that's caused us serious pain in the past few years. Without the moments of brilliance from the aforementioned superstars in the dying minutes, 30,000 fans would've left the MCG seething. Come one Carlton! Lift! :x

Pros:

How good was murphy's goal!! With kreuzers chase and pressure and then the 1-2 1-2 with Murph...GOAL

Freaks

Fevs 7....was double teamed all day ------- loves the G

Judds burst through the middle and goal.....

Fisher, Waite, Jamo worked their butts off all day

Eddie and fevs more consistent with their pressure on the ball

Did i say kreuzer was a gun

Other kids played alright....bower looks like settling in the side. Grigg has no idea what to do with the ball when he has it...but he is finding it more, so will learn. Russel, not in best 22 but i dont mind him playing a few more games

CONS

Gibbs injured
Not winning by 10 goals

PROS

We won and we sang...da da da de da....
We won 2 in a row
We won and we didn't play as well as last week
Defense really playing well together (Jammo, Waite, Thornton, Bower, Banno, Scotto)

Judd (creates the play and kicks the important goals)
Fevola (7 goals against 2-3 opponents...class)
Waite (reliable and good general in defense)
Fisher (very important link player)
Kruezer (contests and contests and will only get better)
Simmo (created space and time)
Hadley (hard nut at the contested ball)
Great to see Bentick in the guts and playing a part in 2 goals

CONS

Didn't play attacking game in the last when we could have spent all we had (wasted opportunity)
Stevo should help out more in the midfield (lacking class in close)
Fisher's kicking for goal had the heebeejeebees
Bower has to learn to handball to become a great backman
Didn't provide options whilst moving forward
Sideway movement dominates our game when it doesn't have to (too much)
Hate to say this (first time) Setanta didn't provide alternate avenue to goal (just a decoy? Good enough?) Keep him and develop him
Forward structure and forward line seems to lack strategy (one dimensional)
Russell looked good in the first half but seems to bomb the ball a lot
Russell, Grigg, Betts, Pfieffer, Bentick all pretty quiet (too much time on bench?)
Lack of play on footy
Lack of forward options
Ran out of legs
