ooooh, lets bow down to the almighty cutter, if you can't wear a footy jumper to the footy when can you wear one? With every other sport in the world it is fine to wear replica tops but people frown on wearing footy jumpers - why?

I got into a fight once with a collingwood supporter, we were arguing over something stupid and he came out with "how old are you anyway, look at you wearing a footy jumper" - I fired up, with something about sorry for wearing a footy jumper at the footy mr fashion expert, a new low getting fashion tips from a scum fan.

I have had my jumper since 1992, won it at the club 'allegedly T Alvin wore it the day before against collingwood. It is getting a little tight on me now and I only wear it for big games, usually against collingwood and the bumbers - would always wear it during the finals also.

I would not hesitate to wear the alternate strip though, I think it looks good.

Do what makes you feel good.

If a fan wears a footy jumper good on them - it shows some passion.
The jumper is our greatest symbol & the best way to tell everybody where you stand.
Carlton hats, scarves & polo tops are all good.
I don't mind a duffle coat either - it means you've been on board for the long haul.
If you follow the blues you should wear blue - club gear or otherwise.
No Carlton fan should turn up tonight in anything red, white or black.

Although I don't wear it often, I still love to put on a footy jumper when I go to the footy!! But only long sleeved to keep me warm & I usually only wear it on night games - to keep me warm! My scarf is a must - it's the same scarf I bought at the first game I went to so it's about 24 years old & isn't so much navy & white as an off purple-ish blue & white. It comes complete with bourbon stains too

Like has been mentioned before, it's the navy blue jumper people - you've gotta love it. If you want to wear it at 50 years of age who cares!! Just make sure you wear it with pride!

Wear the jumper to bed!

If that does not stir the loins, or get your 'lady friend' excited, nothing will!

8)

A friend once told me, (Saints supporter) that he wore his jumper to bed one night hoping to get a bit of action.

He fell asleep, but woke with a god awful taste in his mouth and a sore backside!

The mighty Duke of Earl wore the number 11 with distinction. Possibiliy the most udner-rated player I have seen. I luv da Duke.

Ended up wearing the same ol' jumper that I have had for a few years now with #12 on the back, didn't see much of it on Saturday night though as I had a Carlton jacket on over the top.

But after reading several posts in this thread, I have decided to keep going with the wearing of our playing strip. If people wish to laugh, point, heckle or yell abuse at me - guess what? I don't care.

I am comfortable wearing the playing strip to matches, might even get the white alternative strip for any away games that we play through the year!

You might want to re-consider the alternate strip given Swann's comments on 3AW yesterday

Good on you though for sticking to your guns and wearing the jumper to games.

I was so inspired I brought mine out of the closet Saturday and tried it on....unfortunately I bought it direct from the website without checking sizes, it was a little tight when I bought it and seems to have shrunk over the last couple of years

I love you too Geno  .

I wear a training jumper when I go for a run. I has the signiatures of Russell, Raso and Aisake. Could be worth a fortune one day.

14 YO is the cutoff to wearing an actual footy jumper. Anything after that and you're a freak and will never pick up again.

Try alternative ways to support your team, like painting your face, or shaving the emblem into your scone. Whadabout naming your first born after a well known player.

These are all appropriate ways to prove your loyalty.

I wear my Dark Navy Blue jumper (no sleeves) to all games; proudly.
With something underneath on cold and just the jumper on warm days.

So does my family...it's our tribal ritual.

My wife wears her ladies of Carlton scarf; not by choice.

My kid (Carlton) takes his blow up hand and clappers and we have a ball; win or lose. At least we have a team with a rich history and a bright future.

So do my nieces, nephews and cousins when we are in Melbourne. It's a big day out, an important one for us Bluebaggers.

Who cares whatever anyone else thinks.

I wear my jumper to the local when we are playing on the day....Sydney...and the reaction is fantastic. A great icebreaker. It's incedible how many people know Carlton in Sydney, and how many who don't know the emblem admire the design.
