If I want an opinion on Denis I listen to champions like Archer & Stevens and not the rabble figjams that Dennis had to coach when he arrived at our club.

The leaving of the old coach was destined to happen because of the manner in which he was appointed in the first place.

Pagan was appointed in order to try to save Elliot's presidential skin and not with the needs of a club that was about to be gutted in mind.

I give Pagan some credit in that he placed a number of the rebuilding blocks we needed in place, but if Denis was coach in 2008 it would mean that we would not be looking at improving as a team at all.

As it is now, Carlton is destined to grow from being a bottom 2 club to a respectable middle order team.

While this ranking might not be anywhere near good enough for the many Carlton supporters who are used to the premiership winning sides of the past, I do suggest that under the new young coach, it will set the scene for a remarkable and truly glorious future season.

Bryce Gibbs may not have re-signed for another two years.

Camel, to get where you are going, you still have to know where you are coming from.

The past is history, you learn from it and move on.

But saying what you did, would mean the 16 flags previous are irrelevant?

Geez, don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

Hypothetically, with juddy on board, Mitch gone from an assistant coach and a fit Stevo back, would you have the same sort of optimism heading into the season?

With the talk of new teams coming into the competition, Sheed's and Denis have put there prospective cases forward to coach again.

I find it interesting that they keep pointing to blokes like Sven and other EPL coaches being well into there 60's, along with NFL counterparts, as people managers capable of sustaining success. But our game is unique, very hands on for a coach, like no other.

Parko back in 2000-01 gave us insight into a team manager, allowing Britt's to coach and gain experience while he was still the 'head' operator. Can these elder statesmen now survive in the game?

Surely, Parko, could still have some role to play, if he wanted to in today's climate?

What do you think guys?

Lance would still be at the club with his "bung" knee

Good riddance to Denis.
The only good thing about him making a comeback to coaching is that it won't be with Carlton's young list.
In a few years time (still under Ratts) we'll be saying "Denis who?"

Why wait .......... who's Denis?

I think if Denis was still coach, our club membership total would not be approaching an all-time record. Thank christ that he is gone and I hope that the club is willing to give Ratten a red hot go...
