I can't believe that the Aints picked up Steven King with pick #90 or something.

He would be ideal for us this year as it would take the pressure off Hampson/Kreuzer and give us a viable back up option in the case of injury.

If we didnt have so many injuries to our Rucks most people would argue that King would take the place of a youngster who is the future of the club.

I was of the same opinion. But there can be little doubt that the saints did something very dodgy to secure him for so little.

I thought it was more to do with Geelong needing to dump some salary off its cap number. They were able to get rid of King , Playfair and Gardiner for nothing because of the change in rule which removed the requirement for clubs to use draft picks received for players traded.

I don't like this! Our #1 pick is suddenly injured and the info is scant.

Is it confirmed?

Did anyone see it?

Was the Brown hit more serious than first thought?

Any info would be great!

Bad news, but Clokey is good to go. Whatever we do we must not play Ackland, otherwise we may as well go and get Micky Martyn out of retirement as well and make a complete mockery of the club.

we were keen on King..........Swan had a chat to his mate Balme. Balme suggested we steer clear of King as Geelong were of the opinion that King would not see out a full season due to his chronic injuries. Balme suggested that King was nursed through the VFL last season for which Geelong could afford. But, if we were looking for someone to ruck in 22 games at AFL level - King was not our man.

He will suit the Saints because they can nurse him through the season with Kosi, Rix and Gardiner.

Good that we missed out then.
I hope they have plenty of RN's at the Aints - they'll be needing 'em!
