This is just another example of the Carlton FC taking it's supporters and their work seriously, great news.

The Carlton FC just keeps growing and embracing the times.

Or it could just be a sign of desperation from Jarusa and me....but then again if could just be both!

I'm pleased to announce I've finally finished my summer project - the creation of career / stat summaries for all Blues Captains ever, that hadn't already been done.

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php?page=Captains

Following the links in the right hand column, you can now get a feel for the exploits of these names from the past, some who were thrust into captaincy in war-time, some who always seem to want it and all those types in between. There's some great names here and I recommend to all of you to spend some time reading about our great leaders of the past.

Cheers

M

Thank you to both Jarusa and yourself for all your time and effort in making these wonderful contributions.

I changed the navigation menu on the left hand side, it take up much less space now.

Please let me know if it works OK for you.

It works fine on my system but it may be a problem for others.

I suspect there is a problem with IE 6.0 compatability with this menu.

I have done a couple of things that may have fixed that.

Anyone with IE 6.0 able to use the menu?

And not being able to access the sub-menus is driving me crazy!

37% of Blueseum visitors use IE6

Bugger, will keep trying to find a fix, if I cannot fix it soon will revert back to the crappy menu. :)

Could not work out how to make that theme and menu combi compatible.

So I have changed themes to one that should be able to utilise the new menu and also be compatible with all browsers.

Please let me know whether it works and what you think of the new theme.

I can change most aspects of the theme so let me know how you think it might look better.

Jars

Mine is still not working using IE6

Came across an article that stated Doctypes were a problem
It said that a lot of sites using the old Doctypes cause problems.
http://www.alistapart.com/stories/doctype

Im not an expert on this, but the Blueseum Doctype is old. Html only.
!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"

They suggest changing to :
!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"

I use IE6 and couldnt get the original to work.
The pop up was there, but was hidden under the center table.
Could just see the edge of it.

Tried the new Doctype on a downloaded home page, and I can get the
pop up boxes using IE6.
Dont know whether it would cause other problems.

On the Blueseum now we are highlighting some recent material supplied by the family of Tom Simmons.

Some photos and other information have been provided.

Once again these items that were part of a private family collection have now been made available to the public for all Carlton supporters to enjoy.

These pictures give us an insight into what life was like as a Carlton player and we are certainly privileged to be able to see it.

Tom Simmons Gallery here:

New Tom Simmons player profile here:
http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... %20Simmons

A great story, I encourage everyone to read it.

Also, if anyone knows any of the faces in these photos please let me know. :)

I just did a view source, and I am seeing the new strict Doctype coding in the source.

Maybe need a few refreshes to kick the old version out of the cache?

Site looks good but if I'm just looking through it and not logged in to edit the menu bar isn't working. I can see a box forming a few cm's below the area I am hovering over, so the functioning seems to be working, but I can't see any words in the box. Is that just a priority of the display at my end (ie how do i explain this....is that just the box being set to background?)

Jars, hadn't looked at the Blueseum for a long time, but all is working well... admittedly I am using Firefox and that seems to help...

By the way, I voted in the awards poll too... We still have about 8 days, should a mod send a PM to all TC members asking us to vote???

Thank Big T. :-D

I've now switched to the smartiki theme, I have had to change a lot of the formatting to get it looking 'Carlton' but according to the tikiwiki site this should be one of the themes that IE6 users should have no problems with.

Fingers crossed. Let me know! :)
