I worry about Richmond winning 4 games or less. I really do.

They will get the priority before the first round if they win less than 5 games. Don't want that to happen if the draft is that good.

I think the club would be looking at steady improvement not steady decline.......Ratten only has two years so he would be looking to win games and get the club up the ladder and look for a contract extension.
There are no more excuses, the club have had a swag of early picks, recruited the best player in the country and have got the finances sorted.
The members/supporters want wins and no more games where we get hammered...we dont need tanking, we dont need excuses.... we need results.

How the @#$%&! do you tank with Chris Judd in your side?

He's going to win any side about 4-5 games a year through his solo brilliance.

Add that to the ones Fev kicks us home in and there's no way we're going to win less than 7 or 8.

Can't be done (without serious injuries).

If we cant win a premiership with the talent we have now accumulated, we don't deserve to call ourselves a great club. Another year of tanking would make us as pitiful as St Kilda - tank for 50 years and still can't win a premiership.

Tanking will never garuntee premierships. It wont even garuntee top 4.

i think people are forgetting the fact that just because we may not have pick 1 or 2 next year does not mean we cant pick up a star. Realistically we are looking at pick 5-7 IMHO which in a strong draft gives us every opportunity to nab a huge talent. Besides I think we need to explore other alternatives of getting high picks, such as trades etc.

Winning games is often then missing link between kids reaching their full potential, and being another high pick who couldnt hack it. You cannot tell me that the careers of Thomas, Pendleberry and Selwood etc havent been advanced by playing in successful teams.

I'll have a big flat one, two pointy ones and a packet of gravel.

It's a serious question. If we can't make finals next year, are we not better off with two picks inside the top three. Also, how do we know we're that close. We've been wrong before. Does anyone remember 2004? Or should I say, does anyone remember the 10 wins in 2004 as against the 4 in 2005/2006/2007?

Jeez some of you jump the guns. I'm just putting it out there to be discussed. We have a great midfield now (should be best in the league within 2 years), but we probably lack some key position players. We could plug that hole with two top picks next year. In reality we will probably win 8-10 games next year. And that will hopefully propel us into the finals in 2009. But it means we miss out on a chance to add another gun ruckman/key defender to our list which would come in very useful when we challenge for premierships from 2010 on.

That's all I'm saying.
