Good return for Livo. Looking more and more like a footballer. Confidence growing. Still don't know why he didn't play last week though when there was no 2's match anyway.

Livo played a solid game and he looks much stronger than previous seasons. Poor bloke was crucified by the non-decision when he was dragged down in the goal square.
Walker kept McLeod's influence on the game to a minimum and did a couple of things that made me think "This kid's gonna be a star".

Then you obviously didn't see Bryan ruck in the VFL.

Yes, i did. Bryan had a shocker although was handy around the ground in the last qtr! However................

May I direct you to the title of the thread?

Plenty of other places to register concerns.

Positives? I'll give you a positive...............i'm POSITIVE that if Bryan played today we would have won.

Honestly, you name Bryan and Clarke as emergencies, then bring in Clarke when French doesn't come up? What the hell is up with that?

the play we're creating BEFORE we even create it!

But, at least we showed some BALLS! We showed some spirit and i find myself for the first time all year thinking real hard about who was B.O.G because in my eyes, the boys played as a team!

Anybody else get a little pissed of to see Thornton so far up the ground rather than back in D50 when the game was there to be won? WTF?

This week, i'm not at all blaming the players! I thought the majority put in 110%. Tatics, coaching staff and general game plan was the result of our loss today!

.

You have to be kidding dont you????
We would have won with Bryan????

Oh theres more... the Prenda thing... well Prenda was only in the side to help out Deluca Denis wasnt to know last week that French would go down... Prenda just didnt make the side...

No i didnt get pissed off seeing T Bird playing up the ground. As a matter of fact i thought he was terrific being creative and rebounding showing us what he can do rather than being a dour defender.
You win games by attacking you save them by defending...

And we should have been smashed !!!! They would have lost it we wouldnt have won it....
We played very well as far as effort is concerned.. but were miles away...from getting too excited and wondering which of our guns was BOG.....
Walker was a positive.. he had a very rounded game.. discipline and some brilliance.
Livo was very comfortable out there today.
Thornton was very creative almost a better creative rebounding version of Houla who needs to improve.
Fev = GUN!
Morell played a great game as the floater in defence. This role will suit him till a club counter acts it.
Carrazzo a neat game in defence and through the midfield, I still would like to see him rotated through the midfield more.
McGrath .. no frills but handy...
Kids still improving.

Been thinking about this a bit...

Morell found his feet today in a big way. Had the look of Andy McKay running out of HB and delivering with precision and certainty. Just what we need back there.

BUT, the biggest positive I could pull from the game:

We're now one week closer to the end of this hellish season.

Houlihan really down on form lately. Better off playing Simpson at HBF or Walker at HBF.

I was impressed by Campo's on field leadership today. He is always verbal - was mustering the troops. Was barking out instructions to the ball carriers in the backline and was generally spot on in telling them where to kick it. I think that it alleviated a lot of pressure from our very inexperienced backline. I know that he still gets his cheap and uncontested possesions but he still is the 3rd or 4th best user of the ball in our team and is providing an extra set of eyes for the up and coming players. He provides value and experience and even though he has his flaws he rarely gives up and stops trying.

Did anyone else notice Kouta's first half as a positive.
This bloke is a truly superb footballer and is in my top 10 to have ever played for the Navy Blues. He made his name as fast running high leaping super athletic footballer and could have won a few brownlows. He was cut down a few years back and completely reinvented himself as a grunt, in and under player with spectacular clearance skills, and although it is adifferent style of play he does it as good if not better than anyone in the league. Imagine if he still had a leap on him. I doubt if there is another footballer who has ever gone from the flamboyant to the in an under play maker as well as Kouta (the only one who springs to mind is maybe James Hird)

I know that these two guys aren't the future but lets enjoy them whilst we have them and the present would be much worse if they weren't there.

BTW my theory on Fevola is that the Club have a figure in mind that they want to pay him that is probably around what he wants but they are waiting for the performances to feel more secure about paying him that sort of cash. I think that after the past few weeks he will get his money come years end - He is the best full forward I have seen at Carlton for a long long time (Better than Sticks at FF but Sticks was a legendary CHF).
Fevola is our future - blokes with this much talent do not grow on trees and any trade for him would be a huge risk. We spent years developing him as a player and when he is on song who can beat him - noone.

Also Cory McGrath - I reckon that he does one or two things each week that make me think that he could be areal player one day. I wonder if he is getting the tagging roles as an apprenticeship to bigger things one day. I think that he is still pretty young and at the moment is probably the 3rd most consistent of our 'recycled' players (afterTeague and French) and probably the only one not to go backwards this year - I see him as a 100 game player for us.

That's exactly what they did from the start. But Simpson wasn't finding the footy and Houla's not going to improve his form by sitting on the bench.

No, but maybe he could improve his form by playing for the Bullants!
