in all seriousness, we've gone massively overboard on this "ooh! matron! he hurt my feelings!" crap. The idea that bluechucky gets warned for calling someone a "fool" is laughable, and then, to overcorrect this initial error, he has the gall to pre-warn warn me for saying someone "seems dumb".

Its really too much. We're adults, and most of us play by the rules.

For mines, the only thing we should be warning people about is overexecessive vulgarity (even though I personally love it), racism or personal threats of any kind.

The threads that get personal usually get avoided by most people anyway. And, "maturity" should be left to sort this out.

Synbad and Blue Mark/verbs, for example, are all welcome to their opinions on Whitnall/Campo. If they were mature enough to overlook each other's obvious bias we wouldn't have problems. The threads that become arguments where they keep within the rules are crap anyway.

The whole Warning "oooh! I'm a grown man but my feelings are hurt, because that guy I don't respect called me a dumb-dumb!" is stupid and unnecessary. Because there's scope to create unnecessary precedents, like Chucky's "fool" warning, which have a flow on effect.

You can all argue "yes, but an intelligent person should be able to make a case without resorting.......".... but in my case, jbee was being contrary for the sake of it, even at the expense of comprehending what was obvious, and I thought this made him "seem dumb" because has intentionally overlooking what was patently obvious just to make a case. Then BlueChucky pre-warn warns me, because the precedent had been set with his "fool" remark. Moderating-in-the-extreme.

dannyboy is a gentleman whos passions can get the better of him at times. but, he, like most of us, are man enough to admit his error.

I think the mods need to revisit the rules.

A lot of people, including the moderators and the rules of the site, are oversensitive to criticism.

but when does criticism become abuse?

stick around and find out
