My Positives
19yo Joe Anderson, for his determination and grit. Joey would have eyes only for the contest even if a semi -trailor was bearing down on him. He loves being at the bottom of the pack. He has the courage, agility, reach, pace & grunt to be a rock of our defense for years to come. With more ground time will come better decision making and poise.
Joe is one reason why I’ll sign up next year.
19yo Josh Kennedy, for his determination & grit. That one piece of play yesterday where he courageously ran back & took that spinning mark with 2 Adelaide players bearing down on him showed he has natural courage, athleticism, skill & want. With more gametime and opportunity in a given role, he will start to show his potential. Just needs REAL opportunity.
23yo Jarred Waite, for his natural flair. He finally seems to have overcome the nagging injury niggles of past seasons and is now free in his movements to show his athleticism. With continued gametime his decision making, fluency & consistency will improve and finally we’ll see Jarrod Waite the AFL star.
Would love to see him own the CHB position.
23yo Andrew Carrazzo, for his determination & grit. His skills have greatly improved. In future years he will be the presence in the middle and pave the way for our natural playmakers in Murph, Gibbs, Simmo, Stevo etc. With more groundtime and confidence in belonging his decision making will improve.
18yo Bryce Gibbs. All I can say is WOW. The poise, decision making & skill shown yesterday from this young bloke was unbelievable. To be doing what he’s doing at such a young age is special and I know by reading some of the posts lately re Bryce that a lot of people don’t really understand the talent we have.
This young fella is absolutely special.
19yo Marc Murphy. What an inspiration this young leader is. He has taken on the responsibility, which includes the physical beltings and harassment, only a seasoned 24yo midfielder should be taking on. Again, I don’t think people really understand what this young warrior is currently going through.
An absolute gun leader who should be contractually recognized as such.
23yo Setanta O’hAilpin. True to his name, he is a true warrior. A huge moment for him yesterday to be given the responsibility of kicking out from a point .. fantastic to see. If left to settle as a key defender he will be a huge presence for us come finals time.
With determined and skilled young players like AW, Simmo, Jacko, Blackers, Aisake, Flint, Hampson, Grigg, Benjamin, Harts, JR etc finding their feet and the winds of change blowing through with the likely change of senior coach and training facilities, the mediocrity & bullshit of the past 6 years is quickly diminishing.
In these young men we have real leaders, real skill & real talent, and a real gutsy determination and want to be a REAL premiership threat in the seasons ahead.
Go Blues!!!
The most enlightened post I have seen on this site for some time.
Someone who can actually see the wood from the trees.
Someone who can actually see the herd of elephants that are sitting in the corner of the living room.
Someone who can actually see its the youngsters that are the future.
