I reckon it'll be great to see a bit of rough and tumble on the jumper at the final siren.

The club laundry staff won't like it but hey.

Posted the following on TalkingAFL, but thought it was worth posting here too.

Hypothetically speaking, what would have happened if all 16 teams refused to go with the idea of clash jumpers?

A pre-determined fine?

Expulsion from the competition?

Or simply getting on with playing the game in the standard jumpers that cause very very little, if any, confusion.

While some clubs were extremely vocal in their views about the clash strips, it would have been interesting to see the reaction from the AFL if ALL teams refused the concept (like they should have!)

Or was it a case, as I've alluded to before, of the AFL and some clubs just seeing this as another potential money spinner? :x

Having pride in your jumper is important, but this doesn't translate into the idea that having pride in two jumpers is better.

And finally, were the clubs surveyed as to how much a problem the 'similar' opposition jumpers really created? Did the players get to have a say in the matter?

Clash Jumpers - A load of bunkum.

By the way, it would have been hard to design a worse Carlton clash strip than what has been decided on (with the white shorts :( ). While any Carlton jumper is better than anyone else's, we had better win to erode some of the embarrassment that will come with wearing this one.

It will be interesting to see how the boys go on Friday night, they will spot each other a bit easier you would think, though I guess they will be spotted by opposition players just as easy...

Oh well something different!

I understand it's needed as not to clash with other clubs but i thought the fans would rather buy the traditional navy blue for themselves??? The white will get dirty quickly and navy blue is MUCH more becoming. it looks like were wearing the dockers away strip....

other than that, when its on the players backs i don't mind it at all! It may even cause them to lift you know, refreshed wearing a new strip can cause a new mindset and increased work ethic. The boys will want to have a perfect record in the white and navy.

Correct...and another reason we shouldn't be wearing it.

I realise I will have to get used to it, because too many people are happy to be walked over, accepting change just for the sake of change.

No one is being walked over the board has approved the jumpers these are the people we voted in.

There is one board that is against the jumper change because the president has alot of power.

If people were being walked over why are they buying the jumpers with there own free will

Our board approved the jumpers when the club was in a weak position - after accepting AFL financial assistance, I'm not sure they wanted to say no to the powers that be, on too many issues at all.

As much as I despise the filth, I say well done (hurts me to say that) on taking a stand for so long on this issue.

If the people purchasing our clash strip actually like the design, that's great, but they should never have had the chance to buy them. Sure, clubs will make money from their clash strip sales, but keeping heart by rejecting the whole clash strip idea would surely have meant a whole lot more.

Just my opinion...
