I hope our Irish mates get a read of that article.

Fantastic stuff.

It's amazing, on MMM they were awarding their "Worst On Ground" and Santy got a mention.

I don't care what MMM says. I know what I saw and I loved it.

Santy, you'll do me.

MMM trying to be too theatrical like 3AW but have forgotten that they still have to keep some knowledge about football.

All of us thought Setanta did well, my non-Carlton supporter friends said he did well and 3AW had Santy in their best (1 vote)... so how can there be such a discrepancy? If there was ever a candidate for wankers of the week then the MMM commentary team is an unbackable favourite....

BTW, I don't think Setanta killed Lloyd, I think it was pretty even but he did beat him when it mattered in the critical moments on the one-on-one contests...

Lloyd's game reminded me of Hudson. Lots of cheap and easy goals.

Yep Lloyd still kicked 5 but I reckon Carlos was good. MADE A FEW BLUES. Lloyd made him pay but jeez I hate him. What a poofy player

Damn you Deano, the first thing I thought of when I saw that photo was it'd make a good avatar, alas I was too slow off the mark (not like Santy).

Interesting point that was raised....................

Llyod DOESN'T usually retaliate like that. For him to act like that towards Setanta & do that poofy little dance is just pure evidence that Llyod has his work cut out for him against the big Irish man.

Plain and simple......................he was INTIMIDATED!

On Sunday 4 or 5 well regarded AFL spotters all commented to me what a huge bonus Setanta is for the Blues. Two said the club is to be applauded for finding him, singing him up and taking time to get him ready.

They all said "where do you find a lad of his size, athletic ability and intensity for the contest". 1 said "In 2 years and after 50 games look out. He will be down right scary to play on!"

Those are some big wraps from guys not easily impressed.

Looks like Shane O has another winner

Im not sure if Carey's a lover of Carlton secretly but he has routinely said some good things about the Blues. Tonight he gave his weekend top 3 as follows

1 vote - O'hAilpin
Awesome game on Lloyd and said that 4 of Lloyd's 5 goals he was very lucky to have got. He couldn't recall Setanta being beat 1 on 1.

2 votes - Fevola
Carey said that it was one of the most inspirational and game-turning performances he can ever recall. An amazing individual performance.

3 votes - Carlton
For producing one of the best come-from-behind perfomances he can recall. An incredible effort full stop!

Toss-pot dwayne was quick to change subjects... flowering w@nker!!!

The Duck loves Carlos! :P (not that his opinion really matters to me but nonetheless)

:-D

And everyone should be scared.

He's a mammoth of a man who doesn't take any shit from anyone. Not Richo, not Hall and especially not Lloyd.

He is the hard unit we have been crying out for since Brownie retired.

You want to mess with any of young kids? Fine. But prepared to cop a retaliation from Fev or Setanta.

As my sig suggests, Setanta O'hAilpin is up and about...AFL Full Forwards, you have been warned.

The best part about it is, as good as Setanta is, we have Aisake waiting in the wings. If everyone reckons Setanta gives it back, wait until they see Aisake.

Been playing out a scenario in mi mind the last few weeks.

For the remainder of the 2007, Setanta continues on his merry way. Winning rave reviews, by season 2008 he is widely recognised as a vital part of a firing Carlton unit.

As happens in the AFL, someone from an opposition team decides to turn the heat on him physically to "see how he goes".

I cannot wait for this day

Please god let it be Essendon*, Collingwood or St Kilda that try him out.

IMO Lloyd as a lead and mark forward is no longer.

SOS was never the same after coming back from tearing the hammy off the bone. Lost a yard or two of pace and just lost all those extra tricks that come with it.

Same with Lloyd I reckon from what I have seen so far this year. He will not be able to burst from the goal square like he used to and is going to rely more and more on the type of goals we saw on the weekend.

Compare Fev's goals against Lloyd's goals.

Fev worked his arse off as Lloyd received his on a platter.

I remember watching Setanta at the Bullants in his first year and I'm thrilled to see his progression. And to boot he is a fantastic guy of the field.

Likewise.

Throw what you can at him, Setanta won't back down.

You have to love Ohailpins enthusiasm and love for the contest. In my opinion he beat Lloyd, keeping in mind that 3 of Lloyds 5 goals were him being a cheap pri*k and peeling off the back of the pack when Ohailpin went to the contest.

Setanta is so important to our structure... i must say i wasnt sure about this bloke last year but now im happy to eat my words... i really love how he runs up to the forward he is playing on at the start of the game and starts bumping into them.... love it... a bit of mongrel, thats what we need

Richo actually initiated that in Round 1. Setanta is just the quickest learner in the game.
