The roos would be highly motivated to win, given the fact that no club has to struggle harder to stay both afloat and relevant in the competition.

I reckon we'll do well to stay within a few goals of them - they may not be giving the finals a shake, but they've got enough solid performers and they mean business this time of year.

Wouldn't be too disappointed if we put up a good fight, the kids play well, but we still go down.

Then a few weeks out of the spotlight as we get ready to stick the knife into Richmond in Round 1.

I say the Roos by 3-4 goals.

Gibbs wont see a Bullants jumper unless he pays the admission at cramer Street.

It would be riduculous in our position to do that.
Give him game time in the firsts 45-80 min and let lappin, saddington et al play seconds

I'd like to see Bower and Blackwell come in at the expense of Saddington and Bentick.

Crosisca was on SEN at about 6pm, caught the end of it. Big chance that Grigg will play this week. Hartlett also a possibility.

only problem is crozzi hasn't spoken to Dennis yet!

He wants Teague, Bannister and Mclaren in as "mature bodies"

;-)

What a disaster that would be.

Ye i heard that aswell.

He was saying (when asked) that our current backline is the one we would idealy stick with. He mentioned Harts in a very posative way as a future defender.

He did not mention Bower at all strangely.

Interesting comments re kangas and how they are playing. If we are going to move up the ladder this year, I think they are one of the teams we have to beat twice, something we haven't done for a very long time. If they beat us this week, we will be behind the kangas-eightball in the regular season, psychologically speaking. We HAVE to win. I think we can do it if we get a bit of it in the midfield and it becomes a shootout. I did like the defensive end of the ground last week and Fev and Josh have to get a few extra possessions this week.
Fight fire with fire. Pace with pace. Height with height. Select a tall, quick team and lets take them on.

I can't imagine us winning a shootout, Sombrero. We haven't got enough consistent goal kickers in the forwardline. in my opinion - oops, IMO.

Their little fellas are adding firepower to their forward line. Our little fellas, big fellas and in-betweenies are wonky with their aim.

EDIT - stupid one finger typing while drinking coffee causing spelling mistakes and grammatical errors

Love that line buzaaaah!

However, we can't say that any player is immune from going down to the twos, wasn't that part of the problem with Campo over the years?

Gibbs in the FP as another avenue for goal; he knows what they're all about!

Agree ..wouldnt mind seeing Bryce line up down forward on Sansbury, Sinclair etc and be a marking target..
Kicked a few goals in the SANFL and takes a very nice grab, is smart on the lead and is a reliable kick for goal.....

I thought the Kangas looked good on the weekend.

Clean hands and good ball movement.

In fact I thought their midfield looked better than the Hawks', and Hale and 2nd ruck 9escapes me???) served them well.... and their crumbers around goals (eg Campbell?) looked and were very dangerous...very very dangerous.

We need those crumbers worn like a glove with pace; loads of it....and that aint Scotland...maybe Anderson?

Gotta win in/ break even in the middle, and we've got to play a high pressure game as we did on the weekend...for 4 quarters, and we have a very good chance to win.

Fev is the dangerman.
Kennedy will be very important.

A good team effort by Carlton will give us a win by 3 goals, against a team that is possessed/ obsessed in the NAB Cup.

Will be a great challenge.

Eight goal win to the Blues would rub me nice and cozy and goose-pimply. An eight super-goal win.

Hello HTP. You were up early. I was just going to bed.
Interesting concept, consistency. In my day at school, (I was only there for one day) the notion of consistency relied on a broader ststistical base than two.. (I am conveniently ignoring all previous games by all players here for my own benefit. That's why statistics ae such fun and so meaningless...) I am happy enough in whom we have to believe that if we get a fair share out of the midfield, Fev, Josh, Lance, Fish, Ackers and even Kouta can kick enough. If Fev doesn't try and kick banana kicks from dead in front that is. I haven't even mentioned Fast Eddie or the midfield brigade.
Be confident! But if it turns into a shootout and we lose due to inconsistent goalkicking, I'll aplologise with all due humility of course.

While you're at it 4EB, smack a ten-er down for young Murph to win Charlie - It's currently paying 301 - who knows what he's capable of :o
