Definitely Big Red. Probably for two years, then we can see between Walks, Simmo, Murph and Gibbs, who can take us up the ladder.

A bit left field but why not rotate the captaincy around during the season - Kouta, Lance, Stevens, Fev, Scotland perhaps even Waite and Murphy for a game or so. We don't have an inspirational captain anyway so lets see what they've got. I think anyone who shows leadership potential (on the park for mine) should be looked at as a possibility. We need to find the leaders of the future and soon and I'm quitely confident that some of our younger guys will captain this great club of ours with distinction in the future.

Edit: Forgot Walker! - Definitely one to look at.

Whitnall has what you can teach dumb footballers like Waite, he has football smarts.

Tell me this, how can a bloke who cant run quick, cant jump high, isnt strong still continue to find the football. He is the smartest player on our team, granted he isnt an athlete but id take him over Waite the athlete who can run jump and do the occasional spectacular thing... Whitnall no frills just does his job.

I'd rather a player who turns up in top condition, trains hard and portrays the club in a professional manner.
Perception and example is more important than "football smarts"

Making Lance Whitnall captain indicates how low our standards have fallen.

Saw Lance in the city today....family in tow. Looking reasonably trim was Lance.......they made a beeline into Subway.....doh i thought. I suppose a man needs to eat!

MC will go for Lance to appease majority of fans who like him.

Another cheap shot at Lance.

They do have low-fat options at Subway....and it's better for the kids than Macca's or Hungry Jacks.

He is in fine shape this pre-season, except for an injury concern.

God I'm sick of this Captaincy debate.

So am I.

I'd like to gauge everyone's thoughts on Denis Pagan as our coach. A topic that hasn't really ever been discussed.

Anyone but Kouta as far as i'm concerned - could not go through another year of watching a captain who doesn't want to be one (i don't care what he says in public - he doesn't want it)

Kouta sounded better than usual on SEN this afternoon due to his extra media exposure from DWTS. Its a pity now he's giving up the captaincy when he sounds better than ever, He sounded relaxed and was easygoing in his interview today and contributed to many laughs. I always run to the radio for a Kouta interview, but I doubt i would be doing so for one with Lance.
