Sticks must have a hard look at himself too if it is his abstention that has stopped the vote getting rid of Smorgon. No use sitting on the fence in these issues.

This is a last ditch effort to implement the required changes at Board and Executive level....Should this fail, we will be left with Smorgan and his puppetts and Malouf all hoping and waiting for our onfield performance to turn around so that the clubs fortunes turn arouns.....Do the right thing Smorgan and resign and take Malouf with you........

Why last ditch IB? If the Board is 9-1 on Malouf then that change will occur as a minimum?

Surely supporter pressure would force him out if it is indeed true that 5 current board members want them out. What kind of character in any Business sticks around where he is not wanted? If Smorgon wants a reputation after this, then do the right thing FFS.

If this fails then the 5 who want them out must come out and tell the public what they know. People who read this forum have some idea, but the rank and file need to hear about this stuff too.

If smorgon does resign, is the President coming from the current group (eg Lee) or someone external that we will see at the EGM / AGM?

Lee for mine, but I say that acknowledging a vested interest.

Lee is in the running but cannot discount someone from outside of the current Board....

If Smorgan survies, he will probably ask the 5 Directors who went against him to resign so he can then do a deal with Gleeson's pals.....I understand that a Steve Moltan who is a solictor is currently negotiating with Smorgan for between 2-4 places on this Board....If this were to happen then Sticks, Gleeson and these 4 would then control the club....God help us........

So the decision would come to the voters of:

Status Quo + friends (Moltan etc) incl Kernahan and Gleeson

v.

Lee, Valmorbida, Matiheson (who is retiring), Diggins, Newton + unknown supporters and some cash.

Hate to say it but the common voter may go with Status Quo because of the footy names on the Board. Smorgon may stump up with $ to match the counter-offer. The 'Hopeful 5' need a big footy name on their side.

Branch stacking... (Elliot rules!)

Oh God help us .. the people who are bringing the club to its knees want more of the same...

Anyway... the media will get a hold of this tomorrow.. and my guess is no spin doctor will be able to put a positive spin on ..

and people wonder why im sooo hard on some of these blokes...
We might have to get out there with some pen and paper and collect signatures ...

If it is Status Quo (as you say) we'd be going down down deeper and down

I agree and can confirm that a CEO with very good credentials will be appointed and an ex-player who is very close to this CEO has pledged unconditional support....The status Qo are not capable of turning this club around....

Synbad...that last part, do you say that to force an EGM? Is it possible that the Status Quo grouping could seek to force out the Hopeful 5 and bring in their buddies without a vote? I cant see why the Hopeful 5 cant refuse to resign - surely they would have to be voted off with an absolute majority - meaning we would have a hung Board?

Earlier this year Newton and Gleeson were brought in without any vote at all to us so there is precedent and perhaps clauses in the constituion to bring in Directors without going through us?

Molesy my concern has been that when a club doesnt know what to do.. aNd the people in charge still want to cling to power.. anything is possible.
You can never be surprised with how low people are prepared to stoop to stay in power.... (Children overboard for instance)

And John elliott.. another master at it..

But the problem is... history shows.. it all catches up to you....

The more extensive problem is they effect me personally .. cos i have to sit there and bag these morons even more instead of worrying about other aspects of my life...

But thats footy eh???
