No mention of it so far, but Dr Sherrin claimed that there will be a second independant review and TD/Libba will need to re apply for their jobs.

Totally agree dannyboy. My old man goes to the footy once every year. This year it was the saints game. He was absolutely amazed when Waite was obviously injured - how the doctor and trainers literally made him sprint off. He is involved with Redan in Ballarat - his comment was that for Redan - they would insist on a stretcher for an ankle or knee injury - who cares if he has to spend the rest of the 1/4 off the ground - is it really necessary to make an injured player almost sprint off not knowing what the problem is???!!! A small incident but a significant sign as to how we go about things!!!

Making silly statements that "Pagan has lost the players" is stupid. I haven't heard one player come out and say that.

People who believe they have inside knowledge about this club better get new sources. It looks like the board and coaching staff are doing their job by not letting every Tom, Dick and Harry know what is going on. Those with so called inside knowledge on this site didn't pick this outcome.

As with the players, well I would ask them again or else don't make opinions that blanket ALL players. The players who will be delisted don't like Pagan.......f%^k I wonder why?

I hope for the benefit of the club, Pagan keeps being hard on the players and not soft with them like Brittain was. Make them turn up to training when they are injured so they aren't sitiing in a pub somewhere, make them do weights etc. Previous coaches didn't care less about this sort of stuff.

And if you all thought Mitchell would have been a good coach, well I have some ripper stories about his relationship with some players in the past. I would not want him to be coach of my club.

We need professionals at Carlton and Pagan is the most PROFESSIONAL coach we have ever had.

I now look forward to trade period and the draft and I hope the club has a productive and successful pre-season. Time to move forward.....

The most professional coach we have ever had is not enough.. because he has no idea...

While he is only a part time coach, does Gary Dempsey have to do the same thing?

Surely with guys like Cresswell and Longmire are at the top of the list in terms of new assistants.

Maybe I'm a glass half full type of guy. I'm with Sydney Blue's view on this onee. The dust has somewhat settled, DP has survived with a bit of political shrewdness in inviting SOS to join him and allowing the faithfull Trout and Mulkearns to exit.

Can SOS make a difference? Can we get an experienced football manager? What assistant coaches are available . Let's got to the draft.

Fraser Brown and the other faceless men now have the opportunity to put up by forming a ticket for a board tilt. If they do, that'll prove to me they were serious about the club and not just serious about investing their own man in the coaches position.

Time to take at least a small step forward. Many more to come.

Dempsey has been retained, which I think is a good thing. Longmire would be hard to move from Sydney. No idea what Cresswell is like as an assistant, you'd think more likely to return to Geelong.

Who else is out there?

This has been a really screwed up week for me.

I lost one of my hero's in Steve Irwin (seriously, it's just so impossible to comprehend and i'm struggeling to realise his gone!) so perhaps i'm not as upset about this whole Pagan situation as i probably should be...............when tragedy's like that happens it kinda puts the little things in perspective. After all, it's just footy isn't it?

But the saddest thing is that I...............along with arguably more than 50% of the supporters out there ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THIS CLUB, IT'S STAFF & THE WAY IT'S BEING RUN......................and there is not a damn thing anybody can do about it (or so it seems).

Spot on Braddles, whilst I have been very disappointed by the board's inability to deal with intense media speculation and its poor PR skills, the way the media has carried on during this whole saga just epitomises how unprofessional and devious they are. They have tried to pass on gossip and innuendo as fact and informed news and have sought to humiliate and demean our club at every opportunity.

Some people have said that when something happens at the big clubs then all the focus is there. That's why things have been so quiet at Geelong but really the same things are happening at both clubs. The board and management are discussing things and reviewing and looking at all possible options i suppose.

A lot of us wanted a revamp of the coaching staff and that appears to be happening so there is definitely a silver lining to all this. DP's payout was always going to be hard to accommodate and pandering to outside offers of cash with ridiculous strings attached is not the right way out.

And I have decided to stop listening to sports talkback. Either most of us on here are a small minority and not reflective of the wider supporter base or the radios are screeners their callers but most Carlton supporters that were getting on the air were pro-Pagan! Does this seem right to y'all? :?

Buy a membership (if you aren't one already), agitate, and vote out the Board who are making the decisions which in your opinion are damaging the Club.

Write letters to the Board, to Smorgon, to Pagan, to the Papers.

To say you can do nothing is a cheap cop-out.

When Collo was looking to be elected in 02, I went out of my way to track him down on the phone, and he was courteous enough to ring me back, and we spent 20 minutes discussing the issues at the time, and my concerns as a Member. The more people who do things like that, the better, as it's often the only way the Directors can gauge the opinions of voting members.

You sound like you did.. so they did a great job doing what they do.

now can it be said that our board is doing its job?

Or our coach doing his job well???

So the papers have the right people for the job...

Read the boards Synners, read the papers, read the websites, jotted a few things down.
Hypothesised a bit; grabbed a drink; hypothesised a bit more; ran it past a mate, put pen to paper.

This is an embarrassing moment in our history. The board has been weak and a pack of jellyfish however Mrs Caz is the voice of reason here. Forget about not buying memberships; your club needs you like it has never needed you before and the only way to remove the board is by retaining your voting rights.

I think page 20 is timely to remind people:

1. General posting guidelines
The use of excessive swearing, homophobic, racial and slanderous statements will not be tolerated. The Admin and Moderators reserve the right to edit any post they deem offensive. In extreme cases a poster crossing these boundaries could receive an immediate ban. In less extreme cases you will be given an official warning. Repeat offences after an official warning may lead to your immediate banning, at the discretion of any one of the Admin or Moderators.

1(a). Personal abuse of another poster is also not tolerated. Please construct all your debates and arguments without resorting to the above. If you are not able to abide by this, you will be given an official warning. Repeat offences after an official warning may lead to your immediate banning, at the discretion of any one of the Admin or Moderators.

I'm very pleased that the majority have abided by these.
