I am hoping we can jag a win, but geez if we keep up our current form we are going to get belted.

Reckon the team will have a set of new team goals for these two games. Funnily enough I believe Subiaco will suit our gameplan and we will have to match Port physically to have a hope. One advantage of playng these two trips so early is that we will have them over and done with and will have a chance to settle before our next Adelaide trip in Rd 10

Expect to see a harder and more committed team over the next two games.

Just have a bad feeling that we will be 1 and 4 after Freo. Today was an 8 point game - we would have been in the 8 if we had won. Well and truly among the dregs after this loss.

Dont discount stealing a win, but will need 4 qtr efforts from everyone to do this.

Port will obviously be a very tough gig and our best chance in that game is slipping under their radar ... and Fev slotting home a few more miracle gaols from the boundary.

Freo, I rate us a better chance, but still a bloody tough ask.

The scary thing is playing the Hawks after two tough road trips ... we better not @#$%&! that game up!

The biggest positive for the next two games is we have travelled well and put in good performances at both venues in the past (as well as a few poor ones, but good ones too!).

What were the circumstances of the Adelaide win last year with the Fev goal on the siren? How many losses were we coming off at that point?

We need a performance like this in one of the next 2 games..

It must be about our turn to have the media spotlight applied like a blowtorch to the belly.

That seems to assist our opponents.....

The next two weeks will be tough, but at least we'll find out if our boys have any resolve. I'm sure they'll be gutted by today's result and they'll want to do something about it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they go against quality opposition. For the first 3 weeks of the season we've been playing crap teams who have tried anything to get a win over us. Fevola and Whitnall have been double and triple teamed in all 3 games.

Against Port and Freo, I think it'll be more man on man, as opposed to this loose man in defence bollocks. If we can get it in quick to our forwards who are one out, we are always going to be in with a chance.

I doubt if it will be any more man-on-man that it has up till now. Sure they've got superior squads, so they can approach a game against us with far greater confidence. But they both flood, and they both play keepings off style of footy. Both Port and Freo are well up there in the ugly style of footy stakes. Expect to watch a Kangaroos style of game.

In fact the only thing that has really set Port apart (apart from the massive home ground advantage), is that they've had some absolute gun players who can win games under any game plan (like Tredrea, C.Cornes, P. Burgoyne, etc.).

Simmo, Walker and co all in, then I won't care if we win OR lose.

I agree that wins are much easier to cope with when you're in the midst of development mode. When you're not playing your best young future talent, it really hurts.

I wonder now that our expectations have been lowered, and we've got a better 'take' on where our list is at, whether it might be time to try and find a way of getting Setanta elevated to the senior list.

If we're going to lose anyway, I'd like to see Setanta, Simmo, Russell, Walker and Chambers all getting good ground time in the seniors.

Yeah... if Russell plays well this weekend I'd strongly consider giving him a taste of the big time..... bring him in for Carrazzo

We are in strife the inclusions of Walker and Chambers we will be handy we need to rest Campo, Stevo and kouta during games. We have 2 interstate games coming up, we have played our last 2 games in hot conditions and we are going to face a winless hawks in round six and ill say it now the hawks will get a pump up in the papers just like the pies and we will agaoin face a team with there backs against the wall.

And by that stage, we too, may have our backs up against it.

Port is going to be hard to overcome, but as seen by round 1, they can be beaten, and pretty handsomely. Brisbane almost overran them. No I'm not saying that we're quite at that level yet, but it shows chinks. Let's see how injury and suspension-free they are after today's match. The Showdowns are usually pretty fierce affairs.

Freo is looking pretty wobbly. I think with a renewed effort (with a capital E) we could snatch that one. We've actually got a pretty good record out west.

I'm nervous, but part of me remains optimistic of good showings for both matches.
