Have really enjoyed reading these pages and everyone makes a great case. The roar against the Cats was 100% up there.
My first match was in 66 as a five year old. My family has told me that I cried at the opening bounce due to the noise made by the crowd. I sort of remember it and, never having heard such a noise before, I can understand that. Thereafter, I got what it meant ,and now aged 65, I crave and need it. Go Blues.

Great recollection.thanks forsharing. I’m same age.

My first VFL game was 1968 GF. Loud as standing next to a freight. I didn’t cry . The Swans Final in 23 was fully sick. The following week vs Dees in the Final was something I’ve never experienced before and glad I shared it with my 2 boys, a few other close mates and London blue.

Loved hearing that sound against cats albeit at home.

99 prelim roar was insane. I was row D behind the goals, at the Ponsford or Koutoufides stand end.

Only time I've seen my old man up on a chair singing the song.

The only time my ears have been left ringing from the noise of the crowd. Incredible atmosphere.

Without doubt the loudest roar I have heard . Seen us win eight Flags but that roar topped them all .

The crowd noise swelling in the build up, then the roar as Acres takes the mark, then again when he kicks the goal to take the lead gives me goose bumps.
The sound at the final siren was deafening at the ground.

Sorry GreatEx

Agree. Those two finals had the biggest crowd noises I’ve heard and I’ve been in a few.
