Sadly that's right; as we've seen at times when a coach gets sacked.

The one wood was the key last night.

Dominated clearances, scoring 4.1.25 from centre bounce compared to 1.1.7 for the Cats.

No centre attendance for Cerra again. Played a pretty good game on the wing apart from a horrible squib.

Scott can GAGF! Look at the expected score you imbecile. The Cats are lucky Carlton didn't kick straight.

Young, Ison and Byrne making the forward line less predictable...just don't get outmarked. Mids did pick out Connor O'Sullivan too often but if it was brought to ground they looked dangerous.

Huge game from Hayward. Ainsworth more mid time; 25 disposals and 422m gained. Jagga's kicking needs to be better but he's already making a massive difference. Dean playing as though he's already got 50 games under his belt.

One key take away? More home games at the MCG! The deal needs to be altered. @#$%&! Marvel off.

I sat up until 2am to watch the replay. Such a great win. Full of character and spirit. Something that has sorely been missing for much of this year. Players who have been lethargic and largely just phoning it in, suddenly have rediscovered commitment and a desire to compete.

I just want to highlight the effort of Frankie Evans at the start of the last quarter. Frankie by no means has phoned it in, and I reckon he is one of the few that could say he gives his absolute 100% week in week out. However, 2 on 1 in Geelong's goal square against Cameron and Blicsavs, giving each almost a foot in height difference, they were odds on top score a goal. To win the contest and not even give them a point was a phenomenal effort and embodies the grit and determination that has permeated this team now.

Thought Cowan's efforts after quarter time were fantastic, acres actually did some short passes!!!! Really like the work of the kids, all of them are really putting in. Didn't get much of it last not but Ison's vision and ability to find the free player by hand - wow! They may have won the hitouts but Pitto's hits to advantage were great and Harry is a different player when he is second ruck. Very happy.

 was going to mention this when someone earlier posted about his dart to Flynn (which was also great) - that defensive miracle was one of the moments of the game, along with Ta(y)Ta(y) flattening Blicavs, and Paddy Acres

I posted here a long time ago, that IMO Paddy Cripps was the most influential Carlton player I'd seen since John Nicholls.
The ''Crippa moment'',at the death, had Big Nick written all over it.

It was something Nick did often ! I haven't forgotten but I thank Paddy for reminding me.

Frankie won the Jonno Brown meat tray award for that. He didn’t seem very impressed with the quality of the meat though.

Riley struggling a bit vs Rhys Stanley in the VFL at the moment. Will be interesting to see how he battles it out with an AFL standard ruck.

is it just me or are the guys playing much more uninhibited. we suddenly seem a lot more extroverted too?

obviously much of the voss footprint is here. but the players seem a helluva lot more relaxed. we also are drawing much different lines in our kicking. lots of those 45º kicks, espesh into the F50. kick in towards the corridor, than out, then back central as we enter F50. zig zagging through the field, rather than straight line bombing it.

its all made possible by the emphasis of two things. handball chains out of hot zones, so by the time we are kicking the ball, there pressure isn't as hot. and our dare. looks like we've been given the green light to turn it over, as long as we're being aggressive about our ball use.

with voss, i always felt like we'd try to play with dare. make a few mistakes and concede turnover goals ... and then the instructions would come out to look after the ball. ie we never persisted with that way for long. with fraser, he's letting them go. same goes when we would have a lead. "look after the ball" and inevitably we'd turn it over bcos guys were too scared to move.

that one turover with 5 mins left when we had the lead. straight up the guts from kick out. we'd have never seen that in the final qtr if we had the lead under voss. but with fraser, we'll see it with less than 5 to go. knowing we need another score if we want to win. he who dares, etc

we will live and die by that sword. and i love that.
