Let’s beat them.

Team defense vs Oort was best in years
No Weitering
The way Cats play I think we can cope without him
Hawkins was a goal square based forward, Cameron isn’t.

If that happens we should rename from the Carlton Blues to the Carlton Enigmas.

I’d say Young and Byrne ‘s spots only players in firing line

no hollands or carroll, time for ben campo to get a run, or will acres come back in?

lots of goal kicking practice this week, though part of me thinks the team wide yips were due to the second half mental pressure the team has been under and them expecting to fail. another 4 quarter effort and we may steal this one

As per Jagga interview, they’re playing the Voss game plan still, it’s just they’ve freed themselves up mentally. Also helped that Port were absolutely hopeless in the second half when they really could have taken the game away from us when we missed so many scoring opportunities.

Ben is not a wing Kucas is and he’s still out injured

Ben is an inside mid. We have plenty of them. He’s Behind Cripps Hewett Walsh Lord. Cerra Ainsworth go in there too. Walker and Smith will be on the outside, with Walsh. It’s going to be tough for Ben to break into this team,

Can see all the above playing on next year. Then there’s Williams whose not bad, more outside, but may not be playing next year.

That’s right.

Fraser says he’s tweaked a bit.

They seem to be playing with more confidence and less bombing…except in that 3rd quarter when bombing forward crept into our game.

More setup for outside handball through the midfield. The change to a more run and carry game is evident.
Vast improvement and the boys seem more confident in attacking via run and not afraid to make a mistake.
I felt in the 2nd half some of our players went back to the long kick and stop taking the outside run option when available or move to create. My guess that is a timeline adjustment and human nature to execute what you have known when the pressure is turned up.
The more the coaches keep drilling the run and carry game, the more it will become the norm.
Great change is happening now and very excited to see how we go from here.

Does changes things if we win next week as Geelong is another level. We have been their bogey side for a few years, as a couple in a Geelong comments section mentioned, but it's a tough task at any time. Win and we can think wildcard, especially with Essendon* after that, but winning that one won't be easy. Wait for next week first before thinking any further.

I was hoping to watch him today. They need him.

Acres didn’t participate in match sim on Wednesday. Not sure if he trained at all. Was on sidelines in a white top.

I think there must be something wrong with him, and to miss, it must be bad imo.

Based on what Ive seen in first half and last weeks vfl game Cottrell is way off a recall.

Kicking for goal and passing is lame. Not the player he was in 23 24

If not Acres, Cottrell, Lucas, Carroll, Hollands for wing, who else is there?

Chesser? Gosh, he’s not knocking any door.

His pace looks better today, but like Cottrell a headless chook imo

Someone suggested Ben Campo for wing. He’s not quick but has miles in his legs. I still have doubts he knows the wing craft. Specialist role.

Charleson has been BP and HB. I have my doubts because of a lack of craft in the wing

Cerra for one wing.

Flynn Young? I have no confidence in him, and I thought his game last night was weak. Competitive yeah, Effective No. Headless chook ie runs a lot but doesn’t get much.

Bondi, im at the vfl and neither Chester or cottrell deserve a recall. Nor does any other player aside from LYoung

However I did ask one of the assistant coaches why acres wasn't playing and they were good enough to answer me. Acres was withdrawn from today's game due to Carroll's injury as a precaution against further injury for next week

Kemp on a wing?

Then move Derksen forward with Weiters presumably coming back?

Newman would work, but then who replaces him down back? I'd rather leave him where he is.
