Smorgo, Sticks, MLG… not sure, given our track record of appointing presidents, maybe choosing someone upon supposed baseless generalisations might work for the better.

 I understand it's a tongue in cheek comment but in reality, I'm not sure too many were "appointed" from a wide field. Several over recent years have been the only ones willing to put their hands up.
I suspect a lot off supporters are confused about what being a board member or President actually entails. I've read posts where people believe they're paid employees. There are benefits but it's also about putting up a shitload of your time and resources to assist the club. Time and resources you could be providing to your family, career or anything else instead.
Much like you and many others do with TC, Jars and the many other silent contributors do on Blueseum or people like Cazzesman did in the recruiting space. It's easy for people who give @#$%&! all to criticise those who give a lot.
A lot of past board members have made mistakes but I'm reluctant to shitcan volunteers who have made the effort for the club.

As I mentioned earlier, it's the perfect time for someone to cherry pick the role when success is possible. Hopefully we get the best person with the right credentials and the right intentions. Don't narrow the field down by 50% because you want a specific gender without serious basis.

Do we have any word or expectation on when we might have a successor appointed?

Get the best person for the job. No matter the gender.

Personally I'm amazed there's not a field falling over themselves to take the role. The club is primed for take off IMHO. Finances and list composition in a great spot. If you want to be part of something big. There hasn't been a better time for 25 + years.

Blue Vain I get what your saying
Also i believe the world would be a better place if more women were in leadership positions
For the reasons I said
The biggest negative trait men possess far more than women is self ego
So important for a President these days to not have one or if they do to
park it in reserved section
From what I have observed Kinnersly is a far better well rounded individual to preside over the organization than any the men that have been mentioned
Sayers ego you might say probably got in the way

I've worked at that level keogh.

I know where you are coming from, but you shouldnt judge a book by its cover. You know about that. You're being hopeful.

Ive worked with female directors and I'm sure some have got balls under those skirts.

I have worked with Brilliant male directors too.

You should see what women on Media Boards are like. Tough as nails, and in it for themselves.

Be careful what you wish for.

Re Fitzpatrick. I don't think the AFL would have shafted us in the Draft these last 2 years if Fitzy was doing the lobbying instrad of Priestley. He'd have dirt on them. Its a dirty world.

Great point BV. A point worth remembering for all of us.

People who volunteer to work for the club love the club.

Gosh, remember those days after the penalties in 2002, when we were broke, struggled to attract sponsors, couldn't get a hand up for President, the Board wasn't fashionable, TC Jars helped get our culture back with Blueseum, and away we went. In fact, you were a sponsor back in the day. Frank's training report to keep us connected......

I love your belief we are on the right track and I believe we are about to explode. Nothing is linear, but we have some important ducks pegged on the wall, and now for the finishing touches; the hardest part, sustained success.

Never will forget that 2023 Finals series. The footy world stood up and clapped. Everyone except Swans and Dees fans loved the footy with carlton army making noise they hadnt heard for decades, Footy was alive again. We are desperate to bring back the noise.

A Big 4 club is an attractive proposition for any player. We will be back sooner than people think.

To reiterate:

Luke claimed in the statutory declaration that Cate was raped as a schoolgirl by a teacher and that the teacher was serving a life sentence for crimes against Cate. [1] Cate says this is false. Were it true, you might think there would be some sort of record of Cate being a complainant in criminal proceedings. Whether it is true or false, Luke disclosed Cate's alleged victimhood of sexual abuse to the AFL without Cate's permission, which is bad enough. [2]

Luke also claimed in the statutory declaration that Cate has both bipolar disorder and multiple personality disorder and periodically refuses to take her prescribed medication. Cate says this is false. Luke is not even arguing a truth defence to this straightforward imputation (which, again, is his right). Are there no medical records of this incredibly specific diagnosis which he could subpoena?

And

Quote:
Indeed, Luke is believed to have directed the AFL not to check any of his outlandish claims about Cate with Cate because – wait for it – she might kill herself.

What. A. cauliflower.

How is this piece of shit still walking amongst us?

How many of the current board just nodded their way through his TWELVE year tenure on the board?

Who is Cate?

Why was Luke talking about her to the AFL?

I'm confused.

Cate is his wife or ex-wife. Luke is trying to save his reputation by any means even taking down his ex-wife. The AFL are his buddies.
