I used up all of the tin foil cooking fish on Friday and all I can think about is the timing of the staph revelation & the fact that Paddy Dow was living with our blokes…

And antibiotics & mRNA…

They’re not all medicated are they?

7 of the top 20 players that go off field injured and return to the field are Carlton players
Harry Williams Weiters Saad McGovern Acres Cripps

This doesn't include blood rule

Williams Weiters Gov are certainly massive repeat offenders. Acres I'm not going to criticise because his shoulder is literally* held together with gaffer tape

None of that surprises me.

I’d also like to see a stat for staying on the bench and then playing the following week.

Williams would have to be at the top of that list.

and again ... more irrefutable proof that our culture is cooked. the driver of culture at a club is FO and coaching; and subsequently the players believe in it and buy in.

it is why when the hawks lose hodge, and when selwood retires for the cats, these clubs don't regress or miss a beat. the internal culture is greater than any player.

Yep, always take the negative view.

There is an alternative interpretation to this stat you know.

Yep, they’re all hard as nails and unlike those weaklings at other clubs, our guys dig deep and show the world what they’re really made of by coming back on under circumstances that would end the lives of most mere mortals.

Yep, they insist on playing injured and drag the entire team down with them.

I mean - this is true.

But all the boys in the media are really digging into the kit bag to defend Vossy hey. The subtext of this one is that it's not game plan or anything to do with the coach, it's just that one third of our best team are soft cauliflower who won't play through it.

i swear the media are gaslighting carlton into keeping voss for as long as possible. so that our cook time is maximised.

this is interesting. our guys giving up at the first out. as opposed to mitchell or scott at geelong where players want to run thru a wall for.

I will move the post to game thread later

With Weitering OFarrell and Dean out injured I can see why OKeefe was selected. It was not based on form. He looks lost this year. His job will be at FF because we need Young at FB:a role he plays well when No 1 KP. OKeefe is not clunking marks in either grade so his job is to bring the ball down for small forwards.

Pittonet can’t ruck for more than 60% GT, hence OKeefe required for the chop out. Kemp proved he is not an option for the chop out, and McKay is the only tall target we have in the forwardline, but he’s not leading and demanding the ball.

I hope McKay asks Flynn for some advice on leading. I would have thought McKay would improve each year, like Travis Cloke did for Pies. Jason was hopeless early days and grew into the AA monster. Harry is not improving, but should be. He’s the barometer, but he’s so light and lacks strength in body and mind. He needs a complete reversal in mindset. His half hearted efforts has cost us this year. I point the finger directly at him.

My take on the Flynn decision is MC prefers 2 medium talls Gov and Kemp to add to 2 KPFs. A bit tall. If Kemp didn’t get lucky with his 3 last week, I dare say he would have given way for Flynn. Kemp and Gov have to shine tonight.

Good to see some have forgotten how we got some of these players to the club in the first place and what we paid for them.

Interesting to see some of the other names on the list.

Butters would fit right in.
