It'd be hilarious if they didn't know, and on day one as he rocks up to training he just whips out a packet of Winnie Blues.

Used to come home from music festivals smelling of weed. Now you come home smelling of tutti frutti bubblegum

But yeah. Back on topic.

Graham Wright had his house up for sale in Surrey hills recently. Then withdrew it from sale.

I'm sure that means we're going to win the flag

Quote:
That the Carlton bosses had lobbied hard to have the changes to the father-son and academy bidding process – a change slated for this year’s draft – postponed, to allow the Blues and other clubs “runway” in list management.
Priestley and Wright had recently met with AFL bosses, including CEO Andrew Dillon and football boss Greg Swann, to lobby for a postponement of the rule. Priestley said he had also phoned then AFL chairman Richard Goyder to make their case.

Logical. Like the sound of all that but still feel the AFL led Swan is out to make things difficult for us.
Pokies are a financial windfall for the club, logic prevails.

More interest in Wright and Priestley -
https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/graham-wright-reveals-why-the-blues-kept-michael-voss-and-what-it-will-take-for-him-to-survive-in-2026/news-story/4c2695d266e1f572c6ff5f173a3d723d

I sense that the vultures are itching to start writing their Sakc Voss articles

Wright has set Voss up to fail.

He said this week/ recently when pressed on results, something along the lines of, "no number has been set (for games won), however if we don't finish in the top ten teams, then what's the point?

Does anybody, anywhere, with any sense of realistic notion, believe we are even close to being able to finish top ten this season?

Seriously?

No way is that happening. We just saw it on center stage this team lose, the unlosable with an over 7 goal lead to die as usual and allow another plus 10 goal turnaround to fall into the usual heap of nothingness that is par for the course with this group, especially over the last few years. Is it the coach? Maybe, but somebody name me another coach who could come in andd take this list anywhere near top 4, in the next 4/5 years?

Go ahead........

i think the good thing about modern footy, is things can change really quickly. players buy in, players believe. self belief is an amazing conduit to results. and results breed better results.

hawks turned it around quickly with teh right people in the right roles.

we get cody next year, we release a bunch of cap into the club and with 2-3-4 of theright signings, with the right coaching. a season or two could see us swing back towards the high water mark of 2023.

A decision needed to be made last year... sakc Voss or extend his contract and allow him to oversee this unofficial re-build.

Delaying it a year is a wasted year and a confusing time for all involved, especially the players.

and if it is a rebuild, why on earth do you sign walsh for 8 years and not let him walk and collect some picks for our troubles.

Wright put the wrecking ball into the coaching group. Id suggest he added more than enough high caliber options to produce results, but that will take time. A "new" senior coach won't change that, likely IF a new senior coach comes in they kill off some or all of the coaching support Wright influenced (yes with Voss input), and we are again at ground zero.

Self- Belief? its a buzz word but it has no direct discernable relevance to our playing group right now. For me the biggest issue is mental. Get that on track, then maybe we see a bit more self-belief.

We "could" get Cody next year - right now thanks the makeuppy AFL thats going to cost two first round picks. Never ever, has any team AFAIK been blunted with such a ridiculous impost for a father son option. Its interesting isnt it how this suddenly hits, when the like of Brisbane (for example), have been gifted for so long and have nothing AFAIK coming into play anywhere near as good as Cody next draft.....

And funnily enough Swann was CEO there when they got the benefits.

We can’t waste this year.

If we keep playing and losing in the same unacceptable way, it can’t go on without major intervention.

After all the endless cycles of shit we’ve had to endure over decades, GW and co would be foolish imho to think members and supporters will cop a ‘gap’ year.

Our problems run deep. I don’t believe Voss is the guy but equally concerning is the defeated attitude evident across the playing group in the second half yesterday. Very few up for the fight.

Can’t go on like that. Something will have to give.

Another meek showing this week should expedite matters.
