I think it’s also the realisation that we have pinned our hopes on for 10 years has officially failed. We have peaked and fallen and are now back in the bottom half while teams continue to go further ahead of us. Have a look at the talent on gold coasts list and the talent they’re about to bring in. How many players on our list would actually get a game for them? Maybe 5? We’re in for some rough days next year

We lose a couple of big boys and the world collapses.

Yet we add to our speed and delivery quality with Smith, Ainsworth, Florent and Chesser….bring it on.

Time will tell with Jagga and Dean Frank. Need to give them time.
Others however look good. HoF very good but a bloody big loss next year.

Jake, I think you’re in for some rough days ahead. I’m actually on another planet, embracing what’s going on. Needed change.

Just read the full Curnow deal. That is @#$%&! horrendous to give so many picks back. Didn’t land any senior cover for Curnow or Silvagni. Pick 32 should have gone to the dogs for Khamis. What a shitful end to the trade period.

AUSTIN OUT

We’re either all in for rough days or we’re not. Results will dictate that. Completely agree we needed change. Just don’t think we did enough to move the needle and I don’t particularly rate our list compared to other clubs

In a perfect World where a Footy Club has some Brains running it, Carlton should have had no issues getting rid of Curnow because once upon a time, there was a Big Monster playing for Carlton and ready to take the next Step, Except Austin & Co just didn't have faith in him and did not even give him a chance to see what he can do.

I am talking about Big Lemmy of course. I am the last person to praise players and when I see Average footballers, I call them out, but Geez Lemmy had an X-factor to him. He was Big, good hands, good Kick and he showed a lot. Why Austin failed to see the Potential in him is beyond me

We both have the same loser mentality but their talent will overtake ours soon, the same way we overtook them 5 years ago.

Austin did see his potential that's why he drafted him . But I agree , after a bit of decent form in the back half of the season he should have been given a go .I think there was a bit of Moir about Lemmey in that you had a gut feeling he would adapt to the higher level . Shit some of Moirs games in the Magoo's were atrocious but given the chance in the ones he stepped up . Funny how that works with some players .

we lost 3 players, one who was offered a godfather deal and two who didnt want to be there. who knows how their negativity affected the rest of the team. if charlie stayed would he have sooked it up and cost us wins? likely from what we have seen this year

soj comes across as super entitled like his dad.

doc came across to me as bitter at the end

we get 2 blokes from a supposedly better culture. they may bot be world beaters, but if they bring heart and contest, that will have a positive impact on the group

can we rookie lemmey for tall forward back up? then we just need a decent kpd, perhaps a mature age for a late pick

Not sure North added anything to their list and either did PA
We have improved significantly our bottom 6 and increased pace element and made competition for spots a real thing rather than an illusion

Ainsworth Florent and Hayward all have played finals and hopefully will help improve standards and accountability

Getting Ainsworth Florent and Hayward would have been good if we didn't lose JSOS TDk and Charlie.
We are 9 players out Cincotta Orazio Lemmey Doc Durdin Elijah JSOS TDK and Charlie.
We have brought 5 in and there are quite a few still without contact.

If there was any doubt last year that we were in yet another rebuild there is absolutely no doubt now.

It takes years to recover from rebuilding

I'm in the glass half full category. We have definitely brought in some leg speed. Hopefully Reidy is ready to ruck.
Gov will need to pull his finger out (1st priority - stay on the park). May need him to assist up forward.
We may fluke someone in the Pre Season draft in November. Perhaps someone to help up back (Frost? Jones (again)?). A tallish forward (dreaming ?)
Main thing .... we need 20plus with the same mindset. This year it was utter sh#te with head spaces focused on Saints and their $$$$, what does daddy want me to do and fun fun fun on the surf coast. Fk off all of you.
Let's see what happens mid-November and beyond.
