Are these people in the media mental?
The feeding frenzy I find dusgusting.

Ok so give up a dual Coleman for a speculative pick who is big but drops easy uncontested marks.
Yep. Seems logical.
Where is the equity?
Curnow is the last person we should be trading.

Next these media people will throw out any name just to keep the media frenzy cooking.
How about GWS’s Jesse Hogan. Straight swap.
Yep. Ok you genius.

How many players in the league are dual Coleman medallists?
2!!!
Jeremy Cameron & Curnow.

And then Clark was basically saying “Carlton just has to accept whatever is offered them as the AFL’s nepobaby needs Curnow to win a premiership.”
FO!

Media are full of shit.
Nothing worse in Auist than AFL reporters/ commentators/ Influencers. Parasites, yet we have plenty of posters who will quote them as gospel, despite the fact there are differing stories between different reporters from differing sites/ rags/ stations./networks...all crap...including stat guru David King whoi changes his mind every 4 weeks. He's like a shopping trolley. Can't control himself. Inconsistent, and full of hype. Is there any good one? One? Nup.

Statistician's are a different animal. Its when they giove their opinion on those stats they lose their credibility and pose themselves as coach woethey/ strategy coach

Bondi we can’t trade everyone. Where is our depth coming from?

I didnt say we were trading 45 players.
Geez Drewgirl, that's a bit of an exaggeration.

All 3 of those you mention fill gaps.
I look forward to seeing Reidy vs TDK
Khamis is a swing man, not KPD, but fills the spot HOF has left and needed if Dean takes a little time finding his feet. Can be swung forward. Consider him a Kemp type player. Do you like Kemp? I like him for depth.
Chesser is speed and young and developing, and you forgot Petrucelle who has ample speed, and think what you like of him, he's quicker than nearly every one on our list. Players have to learn to stick to their role. Remember Binns copping a spray from Vossy? Well Charlie has received one or two too, so dont think Vossy has faves. Just play your fkn role. That's all we ask. Lie Frampton did in the GF the Pies won and he had 6 touches.

Getting rid of players we have a plethora of 'type' is not losing depth.
Getting rid of injury prone players for experienced players isn't reducing depth
Getting rid of players to find improvement is improving depth.

We have 2 players too many on our list so we need to discard to give us 44 players (refer to Crusade. He's always tapping into this)
Lets say they are Lemmey and Fantasia aren't needed. Implies we are looking for a KPF/Ruck to replace and dont need an injury prone small forward

We did not Trade TDK and SOS
WE did not trade Docherty
WE have not lost depth with E.Hollands yet, and there's interest in him.
We have not traded Gov and Motlop yet, but its bloody obvious that they can create a space or two on our list and give us some value to improve on them

The kids we must decide on are Charleson, White, Motlop. Can we find better replacements?
I'm sure Flanders is on our list of targets. Rosas is another.

I don't care if we land the Swans offer for Charlie, or the big midfield target we've all heard during the year, but forgotten, and if we can get ouselves another first rounder for a msurplus mid (depending on landing our target and see what Charlies manager can come up with to line his pockets...dirty bastard.

What are you worried about Drewgirl? I get Des English doesnt get excited by depth names, but our club is doing its best. see what happens over the enxt 6 weeks. I'm expecting a surprise signing or two,.

Have to wait like the rest of us.

I'm liking Blamires and Eyers from the VFL, and I'm sure there's a few we need to target from WAFL SAFL.

Might have to let a few kids go...White, Charleson (I like him), or cheap contracts like Binns, Durdin, and I'd give Fog a miss too. Been saying that for 4 years now. He can't kick well enough for AFL. It shits me when he does miss easy shots because its too common. I know his good traits, but he needs his basic skills to continue, and he aint improving imo.

Go Blues

Bondi we will see.

Key possie depth is what I’m worried about.

Losing Jack, TDK, lemmey, McGovern is a chunk of that.

Ofarrell being out next year sucks. Dean needs to develop. If Weitering goes down then what? Yippee we have Young.

I do not mind buku, and chesser. Reidy I question. But let’s see where we end up.

Don’t know how anyone can possible get excited by the ‘rumoured’ players in Chesser, Reid and Kubu. All 3 were being delisted by their supporters.

Coaches tend to have a different view to the couch potatoes.

Chesser was offered a 2 year deal by the Eagles
Reidy has been dominating the WAFL and is playing 3rd banana behind Jackson and Darcy, so tough to get past them.
Kubu has another year on his contract. He's more of a forward than defender and the Doggies go alright inside F50. Sure he is purely depth but not everyone plays in the 1st 23 that's why the list is over 40.

I would say some of the coaches have NFI. I feel our success over the past 30 years alone proves my point but if you feel like attacking ‘couch potatoes’ for having a thought, good for you.

The same problem with every team Drewgirl. Losing key players hurts and moreso when there’s a lack of quality depth. Did you see what happened when reigning premiers lost May or Lever? Or Gawn? Just one.

Well TDK isn’t Gawn. Nowhere near him, unless Pitto bashes him for 3 quarters for TDK to have a chance. What sort of ruck is that?

SOS isn’t reliable when we play the good teams. He hardly played this year. We coped. See last few rounds. Need someone who can stand up and help with team harmony.

Lemmey. What was there to miss. I was never a fan. Pitto was miles ahead of Lemmey as a ruck, and Lemmey struggled against good back men as a KPF. Nowhere near it. Need to upgrade.

Gov? KP? Spare me. Premadonna. Huge ego.

TDK didn’t set the world on fire. I know he made a few fans who loved his ground ball stats, but they didn’t hit targets and his marking around the ground was spruiked as brilliant, but that’s compared to Pittonet. I thought TDK was good and one day would be a great Fwd-Ruck. Pommie thought TDK was GOD. Some obviously took that as gospel. He loses the ruck against bigger bodied rucks, and hence the game.

Like I said. Can’t wait for Reidy to ruck against TDK. Do you know anything about Reidy? Have you seen him play? If answer is “no”, you are jumping at shadows and getting all hysterical.

Bag Young at your peril. He’s done better for the team than most forum fans. In life you have to learn to be grateful, not just that you’re alive, but in the little things in life. He’s been great insurance for us, and wil remain to be. He costs less than $400. Go find a better KP for that price. He’s depth. Oh yeah…finding a better KP that Young is exactly what we will get if we make more spaces. Ask keogh about big boys in SAFL WAFL and VFL.

Let’s see what happens, but other than TDK ( glad we didn’t pay $1M), all those names you mention are better off our list under the conditions they demand. Not needed.not good for the team.

Bondi. I agree with all you said.

I havent seen Reidy play. And yes i may be wrong, just read Freo supporters assessment.

TDK was hyped. I am not going to miss him.

Jack. Am over the romance now, if he wasnt a silvagni, lets face it would anyone care?

McGovern took the piss and doesnt have any professional standards. But is an experience body, and can play forward and back.

Lemmey didnt do anything, but i simply put his name there as a KPP we lost.

So let me ask you. If Weitering goes down and Harry goes down, which has happened before.

And we trade Curnow. Who is going to take up this slack and keep us competitive?

After all, all i want is to play finals and dont give two shi$# who or what gets us there.

I just am not convinced you can trade all these B Grade experienced bodies for 2 years in a row and expect to be competitive. Unless you replace them with decent replacements. Reidy, Baku and Chesser alone wont cut it. And Pettrucele. We are really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

So i hope you are correct when you say we will sign one or two that will surprise us.

Why do you spruik this sort of stuff?

I know you. You’re a bit like me. A rusted on fan who wants the good times to roll again, but in frustration you want to know where the blame for our “failure” lies.

If you blame the coach, fine. But don’t tell other couch potatoes they have rocks in their head. It’s just an opinion.

From what I understand, you rely on info about the club from forums and media. The club makes mistakes but isn’t a basket case, nor is the coach.

You dismiss injury as an excuse. That’s fine. It’s not an excuse, it’s. “Reality”. The numbers over the last 4 years don’t lie.

The abovementioned are not rumours. It’s been public knowledge and in the papers we have been talking to managers of Khamis, Chesser, Reid, Reeves, Flanders, Rosas, Petrucelle, Gruzewski, Gothard, Treloar, Butters, Gulden, Switkowski, Bailey, Fritsch, Wines…and that’s just from the top of my head. And you know it’s legal, formal and not underhanded.

Be happy the club is lifting every stone, and got rid of a lot of crap, including overpaying players.

Players like Harry and Charlie are being paid 900-950. Do you know what they are being offered to leave? Ditto Weiters. Offered $1.4M 2 years ago. He’s happy to keep the band together and take understand.

We are not a basket case. These are not BF rumours. We are cutting a lot of players to balance our list. Ie making it better and deeper than 2025. That’s all I ask, and I am grateful for that.

I don’t bullshit, I don’t make up stuff, I don’t throw rocks at my team if they don’t deserve it, well, as for bullshit part, unless I’ve got a beer in my hand. It’s 8.36am.

Come on Surrey. We are going to be here for years to come. We can’t change anything from the couch, but credit where credit is due. The season isn’t over and the trade period hasn’t finished. Wait till Trade and Draft ends before you judge the clubs trade season. Courtesy is contagious.

It’s my opinion Bondi. These 3 don’t do it for me.
Not my issue if some can’t take others thoughts.
I don’t have to agree with everything being posted by others.

I’m pretty aware the trade period hasn’t started but I wasn’t talking about the complete picture. I’m just putting my thoughts forward on the three players raised. Hopefully the club has some ‘genuine’ class to trade in to replace the big losses like TdK and JSoS.

Lies.

I am not calling you Trump, but Trump lies knowing some will stick.
Why do that to our club?

That’s the part I don’t get.

And Cazzeman wasn’t attacking couch potatoes. He was stating a fact. Voss knows more about this current team and club that th3 lot of us couch potatoes combined.

He also stated the facts. None were being delisted. They had offers, or under contact.

Here’s another one for you. We have been after Petrucelli for a few years. In fact, we did in his draft year….but WCE were asking too much. Isn’t it a coincidence he’s now a free hit. One of the quickest players in Oz, 8 years in the system and not playing for his coach. What’s there to whinge about acquiring him? More reliable for speed and endurance than Doc, Fantasia, Binns, Cincotta, Gov….so we might improve our depth taking him on.

Small fit pieces around our big pieces will help. A couple big names would top it off for me.

EB! Wow.
Any news on the Judd deal? Do you think #3, #20 and Bower will get the deal done?
Would prefer to hang on to JK. Despite Pagan’s obsession on throwing him into the ruck I reckon the kid has shown plenty up forward…

I've been giving this some thought, I think we play hard ball with WC, give them Pick 3, Bower and a highly promising young forward named Jake Edwards.
We should keep Kennedy. Edwards could be anything, but you gotta give something to get something.

Attacking? Bit dramatic.

Couch potatoes have plenty of thoughts. IMHO, a large percentage of them are based on nothing more than irrational emotion, having been overhyped by the media. You only have to read the posts on TC.

Coaches may well get it wrong, but I would suggest they are working from far better facts than 'Billy the Potato Farmer' from Poowong, who has been listening to SEN 24/7.
