Blues $1.04 on Sportsbet.
Anyone recall the last time our odds were so short?

If hate it when we are odds on favourites. Is it only me or is anyone else just a bit nervous about this game?

Seeing Liverpool go in at half time 0-1 down to Southampton has made me nervous for this game, because Southampton is every bit as bad as Richmond but Carlton is nowhere near as good as Liverpool.

Having said that, Liverpool won 3-1. :D

Even if Richmond jump us early they're not likely to sustain it.

Round 1 2018 we kicked the first 5 and they ran over us easily in the end.

The right call. This is a glorified practice match. Tigs will be without Prestia and Balta on top of Bolton, Baker, Rioli, Graham, Martin, Grimes, Pickett all leaving. No need to rush him. And it will be great to see Kemp get a go at it.

You may be right but % matters and if other teams are flogging tiges by 50 - 100 points and we don't it will come back to bight us later.

Other teams don't play the Tigers in Rd 1 when they're still up and about tho.

Pies beat Tiges by 83
Gws beat pies by 52
Blues beat gws by 58

By my calculations we should beat tiges by 193 :-)

I'm always nervous before a game. Even when we were hopeless and I new we would lose I was nervous.
But I am also just glad that footy is back as I get nervous waiting for the season to start! :banghead:

GO BLUES!

Given the announcements, I'd say we're looking like this:

FB: Haynes - Young - Cowan
HB: Saad - Weitering - O. Hollands
C: L. Camporeale - Cripps - Acres
HF: Williams - McKay - Walsh
FF: Motlop - Kemp - Fogarty
R: DeKoning - Hewett - Cerra

Silvagni - McGovern - Fantasia - Cottrell
sub: Docherty

E. Hollands is the interesting one... Limited minutes in pre-season suggest he's not an automatic selection at this stage. It's a real toss up between Fantasia, Hollands, Cottrell, Docherty... and maybe, for structural reasons, Silvagni and Young.

Hollands is an absolute lock if I'm picking the team. One of the few players we have who is genuinely creative with ball in hand. Looks laterally, looks short, holds the ball just long enough to draw defenders and open up space. We have way too many who just revert to bombing it to Charlie or Harry

Unlike Young!
