Let's hope we draft a mid ready to roll thru the middle like the ashcroft boys from day 1.

other than that, lets get a small forward. no more mediums, we have a ton - williams, moir, sos, kemp etc - get a pure crumbing small with some electricity. for sure. get ben campo and allow lucas to go to thru to the keeper and pick him up down the road (or not). go get grainger-barass to cover for young, and we've had ourselves a summer.

get the HP dept firing and lets shoot for top 4. not sure we'll make it. but, in saying all of that, i'm glad we didn't pay overs for houston. port are being douchebags, so best not entertain their nonsense.

So we get Pick 3, 63 and 68.

Give 12, 14, Owies and 73.

Guess it gives us more points for the Campos.

What ever happened to WC and Carrol ?

Hmm. So we have #3 and then nothing until 5 picks at 60+. Will all of the latter be spent on Campos or can someone think of other deals we might want to do that consume some of those points?

Pick #26 would have been great, could have used that for a KPD prospect. Wonder if that does indeed clear the way for the double barrelled Hawk. I don't want to see S.Durdin on the list next year - nothing personal, just seems evident we'd get minimal return- so am open to any ideas.

Without evidence, I suspect we hoped to include Carroll in the deal to unlock #26 but WCE don't rate him. If we draft a mid at #3 and B.Campo then there's not much opportunity for him here.

No pressure, like, but B.Campo had better be @#$%&! brilliant because I resent the way this F/S promise is buggering our list balance and trade flexibility.

There will be opportunity. Cripps is 30 next year. Hewett 29. We will have injuries. Draftees coming in are kids. Unlikely they’re going to slot straight into permanent midfield roles. If he’s good enough he will get chances.

So lets discuss list balance. Where do we sit potentially after this trade period.

Hypothetical

Pick 3 - Mid
Ben Campo - Mid
Lucas - Running back

I feel we need KPP. We have similar types. The Holland boys. Bins. Lord. etc

Would have liked a tall back. And a medium plays tall forward.

Agree - that's why I'm hoping for pick in the 20's as well. Maybe could find a promising tall defender with a selection in this range.

I think DGB is the right option for this. Drafting an 18 year old KPP is probably not going to have a real impact for 4-5 years. DGB might not work out but if it does, he probably has a pretty high ceiling.

Failing that, go after SDK next year when he’s out of contract and McGoverns big contract is off the books. That may well already be the plan

So we’ve effectively given pick 12 plus next years first and second picks and Owies for pick 3. That’s a hell of a lot to pay for one kid.

Austin really putting his neck on the line here. Get this wrong and it could set the club back a long way

We’d also want to make sure we finish high up the ladder next year

Yikes. When you put it like that, we really have paid a bit for this

Then again West coast supporters seem pissed off, so that's encouraging

I was hoping we'd get pick #26 for a KPD prospect as well.

Next year we will trade out our F1 pick so its not used up matching bids on Cody Walker (son of Andrew) who is shaping up as a very early 2026 pick.

Im loving us at least being bold this time and trying to be different and move with the times.

Am i happy with giving up what we have for pick 3. Dont know and wont know till we see how good our pick is.

Sad losing Owies, but he had currency this year so it had to happen.

Hope we can move Kennedy, and Carrol so we can have a few more hits in DFA for some KPP. Kostanty, DGB or McMahon would top it off really nicely.

Sad to see Owies go, I hope he goes well.

The trade:
Pick 3 = 2234
Pick 63 = 112
Pick 68 = 59
Total = 2405

WCE
Pick 12 = 1268
Pick 14 = 1161
Pick 73 = 9
Total = 2438

The trade cost us 33pts (pick 71) and Owies.

Not too bad.

Didn’t we get a second round pick for next year from Brisbane via Hawthorn?

How many points would we need for both campo's. those picks will move to the 50's.

I hope no one bids till at least 3rd round. Worried about that pri$% SOS.

Yeah we still have a future second round pick

Eagles fans are losing their minds lol.

They could have just traded Barrass for 14 , swapped that for Baker and probably gotten Owies for nothing and kept pick 3.

Instead they’ve turned picked 3 into keeping Barrass and Owies.
