It's funny that we have, given our ground ball game's been really good for the last couple of weeks.

Yeah , the side is no slower than usual Syd . We are not a quick side and don't rely on pace to win games . We win in close and it won't matter .

Two backs, two forwards, one ruck & one utility.

How is that too tall?

As expected and on cue, TDK Cerra & Doc in. Love it. Yessssss

Can't believe Cincotta, our quickest player who is also mega reliable, is out ahead of Motlop.
Someone will have the job on Zork0

2 rucks in a Final, just as I expected. How could I not be happy being risk averse. Yessssss
We have a spine for 4 quarters.

Everyone raring and fit
I'm loving Durdin passed fit. Bad luck Lordy.

We've been working towards this over last 7 weeks, let alone 26 weeks for Doc, barring Charlie missing, we are going to win this with best available.

Bring it on!!!!!!!!

Yeah , I don't get the criticism . A well balanced side . And the pace criticism is also strange as we have never been quick . I"m with you Cruz .

Yes it is overall a stronger side than what we fielded in round 0.

Team is carrying too many lacking form and conditioning.

Cincotta could expose Zorko in the air. None of Durdin, Motlop or Fantasia can do that.

I would rather go in with some younger players that are 100% fit than experienced players at 70% fitness.

We've got to have a strong laugh amongst ourselves over the selection.

Gotta remember the arguments we've had over the selection of Young, Pittonet, Pittonet and TDK playing in the same team, let alone in a Final.
Gotta laugh at the thoughts we've posted doubting the MC would take the risk selecting all the following this week

Doc after 26 week break
TDK after a 7 week break
Cerra after a 5 weeks break
Harry after a 4 week break
Williams after 3 with hammy tightness
Gov off with 3 with the same
Durdin with one shoulder
Acres always with one shoulder.

Talk about rolling the dice.

Reminds us all our opinions are just that, and only the MC are best placed to know who and why is selected.

This is a great team, given Charlie is out injured.

Great balance.

This will either be the Hawthorn game again or one of the great wins.

Hopefully they help us out by kicking 4.16

To use speed you have to get the ball out of the contest
You can't go into a final against a team that is in its 6th year of playing finals and expect a bunch of 19 and 20 year old whippets to get the job done.

Would have liked to have seen Curnow but apart from that happy with the team.

The addition of Doc whilst I'm still unsure about it, at worst adds inspiration, excitement and motivation for his team mates. You could see that clearly, if you look at that magical clip where Crippa came into the pool area (I assume at IKON park) and made the announcement to them Doc was playing to all who were in said pool. The we see all of his team mates lifting up Doc and screaming with joy was something to behold yeah?

Despite my reservation on his selection, his inclusion at the least promises to inspire his team mates to perhaps go some % harder and maybe, just maybe a miracle at the GABBA is attainable!

GO BLUES!

Yeah, I'm astonished to see Motlop get a game ahead of Cincotta. I'm pretty surprised to see Durdin play. I rate him, but he looked sore and very tentative last week, after retweaking his shoulder. Surprised we're risking Cerra, given his injuries and his form. Also surprised we're risking Docherty in a final.

Was inevitable we'd be taking some risks at selection this week, given our injury list and form over recent months. But looks we've put all our chips in. I wouldn't be surprised if we get belted.

Harry, tdk and kemp forward is too tall. crumbing to motlop and durdin. one doesn't chase or close off space defensively (motlop) and the other can't kick goals. and neither of them can crumb - the ball will be rebounding out of our F50 all night & going coast to coast.

... watching williams sucking on pickle juice in the 4th, and cerra breaking down before halftime will be highlights.

again, i love the guy and what he's done, but his last few games before he did another knee, doc looked glacial out there. big memories in 2023 of his opponents streaming past him while doc is jogging as fast as he can to keep up, 20m behind play. hopefully, and praying to the baby jesus, doc plays HB flank, and not wing. doc's days of running all night long, are more than likely over.

to think one of our speedier and more willing players in cinc was omitted for an ageing, and slow - but coach favourite, is a bit rough.

carroll ahead of Lord as emergency isn't good either (with carroll wanting to leave for home at the end of the season). in game where we're a 5% chance of winning, blooding a kid like lord in a final with an eye on the future, would have been the play here, imo. I'd have loved to see lord in and let cerra go start his preseason.

i wouldn't have risked tdk on a foot fracture either. he is absolutely our future. Moir could been sub, and kemp could have started. that kind of exposure for moir could be something that springboards him into 2025.

fantasia will have to play the game of his life, if we're gonna win this one.

lol ... having faith in this MC (and coaches) seems a little blind and premature. since we haven't done anything yet in 2024.

My last game of Masters footy for the year is on Saturday, we had a new bloke turn up at training on Wed night, a guy who just moved here from Tassie.
His nickname?

Doc.

Surely that's a sign!

I just hope whoever runs out onto the Gabba tomorrow night is 100% (or close to). Charlie Dixon showed last night how much of a liability an unfit player can be in a final.

Dixon isn't just unfit, he's cooked.

I read that Brisbane have been at the umpires to protect Neale.

They’re nervous, everything to lose.

Keep the pressure high and they’ll fold
