i think we need a quality CHB and a replacement for mcgovern and his contact adverse, weak sauce style of defending. every time he gets bruised, he's literally in the sheds getting checked out.


can laverde replace mcgovern? i can't stand watching depressendon, so i have no idea whether laverde is that intercepting defender with good foot skills.

Not that I've been paying close attention, but I can't say he's been a standout any time I've watched *. But keep in mind that I always change channels if it looks like * are going to win, so I've probably missed his best performances.

I'm not as big on the Leek as others here, but I'd have him over Laverde.

He's more lockdown than an interceptor. He's undersized but he plays taller, because he actually bodies opponents (unlike Kemp and McGovern).

can he be the number two behind weiters? CHB? or too small?

When emotions like envy and jealousy rule the head, its easy to forget the achievements of Austin.

Hewett and Cerra provided much needed support for Cripps, after Williams didn't the previous year.

Two AA type HBs to release Docherty from HB were a great fix too.

Wings were an issue, and that was fixed to include back ups too.

Can't wait for the bounce of the ball next Saturday night, and hope our FB Young and CHB Weitering prove (as I believe) they are super KPDs who help us win the game and give us momentum to have a successful Finals campaign.

Agree he bodies players and uses his strength.

He's not known for his intercept marking, like Gov or Kemp, but he is more accountable than both of them at defending.

I believe Haynes will provide a better option than Gov and Kemp as the 3rd tall.

Lemmey may well be the Fwd-Ruck we are developing for the future, but we need one who can play now if TDK is our No 1 ruck and until Lemmey makes it his position in the AFL in 2026-7; if indeed he makes it.

I think Young is ahead of Laverde against the super tall KPFs.
I know Young's limitations but I am also aware and respectful of his weapons and what he does bring to the KPD post against the really big boys.

My thoughts exactly. Both him Haynes are undersized. Unless we are looking at trading McGovern.

i think we're looking for cover for mcgovern. it was kemp, but maybe he's more of a forward now?

Laverde was the turd who basically told recruiters he only wanted Essendon* as he followed them when he was young
