I can't stand Pickett, but the MRO/Tribunal bent him over.

Same, thought that was 1 week

Kosi's got form tho, he'll just get 3 weeks regardless from now.

Dangerfield would never be suspended for the same act as Kosi.

Dangerfield specifically was not suspended for exactly the same act as Owies.

We should take them to court.

The AFL is a joke …. Is it Butters from port has been fined so many times for punching, never suspended but a bloke does a perfect tackle and get rubbed out.

Where is the consistency?

Sadly all true. Proof is in the pudding.

Must appeal.

Can't believe all the evidence has been dismissed by AFL. Fk em. Appeal, then take it further and complain that for justice to happen AFL forces clubs to use their soft cap till its exhausted.

This post resonates with me today.

No one knows the rules of AFL, but Aussie Rules is easy to understand.
Unfortunately the AFL has hijacked the game Aussie rules and has made up its own rules on a weekly basis, changing rules mid season.

The AFL Commission should be held to account for destroying the rules of the game; an Australian icon.

My 2 sons have been Carlton fanatics since birth. They have gone through the last 2 decades of failure, but stuck phat.

Following the Umpiring this year has been too frustrating for them, as it has been for everyone in football.
Following the deplorably bias umpiring in last week's game they really didn't want to follow AFL anymore.

In fact, today, both told me they will not be coming to Brisbane with me to watch AFL.

The AFL is obviously anti Carlton, and for them its not worth the frustration and disappointment supporting a team or code they dont understand, let alone the unfairness they witness week in week out.
Worse than that, following last night's Tribunal result, and difficulty understanding the rules of the game, my youngest, after all these years of developing in the Academy has now dropped footy as his sport. Its a mugs game run by a bunch of private school boys club twats, who are unaccountable, lacking transparency accountability and integrity. He has chosen to play soccer. FMD. Thanks AFL.

Have to.
We have no choice.
No way should we accept this bias, inconsistency and incompetence.

To be fair we spent the whole 3 hours on Sunday telling the ump he was useless so not sure we can play that card!!

Correction: first 3 quarters till umps saw the free kick count at 3/4 time and adjusted their adjudicating to include 2 teams.

He should have been given 5 weeks for that violent shoulder charge 2 years ago.
He should have been given 3 weeks for his head high hit breaking Crippas nose in a Final.

He's a thug.

I'm hearing Boyd's name for consideration to play in Brizzy.
I thought he was out for season.

TDK has had 7 weeks off between injury and Brizzy Final

Cerra 5 weeks off
Martin 4 weeks off
Boyd 4 weeks off

Williams 3 weeks off
Gov 3 weeks off
Harry 3 weeks off
Charlie 3 weeks off

I think there's a case for the above 6 to play vs Brizzy. I'd pick them ahead of inexperienced kids who are not battle hardened for Finals.

Really need a quality small forward to accompany Williams if Owies doesn't play.
I have no faith in Motlop's current form. I'd have Fantasia ahead of Motlop.

As for TDK? Surely he's close to returning too.

I'd like to see Cincotta HF tagging Zorko.
He's playing the Coleman role this year.
Coleman tore us up in the Prelim last year.

I think Boyd was quoted as being out for the H & A season

By the time of the final comes around, Harry and Charlie would have had 4 weeks off.

I posted earlier in this thread that it might be a good idea to arrange a VFL practice match this weekend to hopefully get TDK or even Doc some match fitness. It could be a combination of players from other VFL clubs or perhaps some VFL reserves players. Even less than 18 per side would be beneficial - this was common practice during Covid.
I'm no expert but intense training sessions are no substitute for actual match fitness.

R: Pittonet Hewitt Walsh

Inter: TDK, Lord, Cincotta, Kennedy
Sub: Moir/Doc

If TDK not fit... then Martin or Cerra. I would normally have Cerra straight in but that hamstring is so dodgy.

If TDK had a couple of games under his belt I would not play Pitto.

Williams is the risk I would be willing to take.

I have a good feeling about this game.

What do we think?

Yep, I rate Cerra but what we saw of him in 2024 — well to put It kindly, he was a shadow of himself. Needs a good pre-season for 2025. If we go deep (not expecting it) and he’s burns down the stadium at training consider for a late call up if matchups require it. Carol showed more than Cerra in 2024. Lord didn’t but has the hardness for finals and improves every single game. Moir for the miracle-pill sub.

Harry, Charlie and hopefully Williams and McGovern. TDK would be big bonus if available.
Do we risk playing Martin or Cerra?

First thought was @#$%&! no to Martin, play Moir. But then I remember Martin's heroics against Sydney. Was that also after an injury break?

We definitely need some height back in the team. H and Gov. The rest... hard to say. Doesn't sound like TDK was anywhere near being ready this week so would be a huge risk, but also huge reward if he's fully fit.

If there was one forward we missed against Saints it wasn’t charlie and H it was an in-form Martin. Always mangages to do something against thug defences (did people notice they 3 times clobbered Kemp and co on the head in marking contests? didn’t even try to disguise it as a spoil, just whack!)

If he can polish up his disposal he will be a fantastic player.

I guess that’s why MC & Voss have insisted on putting so many games into him when he seemed very cooked and in need of a freshen up in the twos. maybe they do know what they are doing sometimes at the MC table?!

Young has done his job well two weeks in a row. And we need his height against Daniher and Hipwood.

that defensive grab he took when it looked like saints were out again was impressive. maybe he can improve other parts of his game and be a player, his height and marking/spoiling are his POD over Gov, Kemp & Marchbank. I recall many on TC calling out zac jones as a klutz for a couple of years before becoming AA-worthy and he and weitering lead the #1 D in AFL (god what a distant memory that is!)

Last year I was quite confident and we lost, this year I am not confident at all.

I'm feeling quite confident. I think we can take a lot of confidence from our performance against St Kilda and with McKay, Curnow and a few others (hopefully TDK) returning are a real chance.
It will be interesting to see if we take a gamble and select Martin or Williams.

Not sure why we'd risk Martin or Williams when we have Kemp & Moir fit

Martin and kemp are v different. Kemp plays a traditional KPF, Martin way more mobile and goes everywhere. Think Kemp would play even better up forward with H or Charles in the team (or both) taking some of the heat off him, excellent 3rd tall option without SOS in the team, if we go 3 talls.

his defensive forward game is handy too, he laid some great tackles and excellent spoils to ground the ball in last two weeks. He’ll learn from that miss and will work on becoming clutch, I’m sure of it. It’s happened to many great forwards over the years, missing a clutch shot from 20/30 out straight in front.

williams v Moir is harder, I’m 100% sure the MC would go with Zac williams every single time, based on Moir’s lack of experience and ability to stay in the contest for four quaters in VFL (but hey, maybe he’s just waiting for the bright lights of big time AFL FInals Footy?!)
