unless owies has prior? does he?

Didn’t he get suspended when he broke his hand whacking someone?

If there was no HIA done, then I can't see how impact could be graded as medium.
If the MRO/AFL is going to insist on medium impact, then Kilda should be under scrutiny for letting a potentially concussed player stay on the field.
Give them a fine to go with their poorer draft picks and more difficult 2025 fixture.

it's puzzling he got a week. I know he pinned both arms, but it was a momentum tackle, not a sling motion. Higgins gets straight up, the umpire at the time called it holding, and play went on.

meanwhile liam jones gets a fine... lol_afl

Hmmm...

Forgot about him.

There is a sameness about our small forwards.

Pretty clear cut I reckon, free kick or not.

So did Dangerfield.

Same tackle as dangerfields.

Higgins created the forward momentum and Owies was dragged along.

Challenge for sure.

Why was Kosi's first anyway, no one cares right now if he plays round 1 or not.

If TDK and Docherty are seriously being considered for selection I wonder how Russell would go about getting them match fit.
Could it be arranged for them both to play in a VFL practice match for example? I would have thought this would be better preparation than just attending a few high intensity training sessions.
If anyone knows whether a VFL practice match would be considered or not I'd be interested in knowing why. Surely in this particular situation it could be beneficial? Didn't they do this during Covid?

The vfl season has been over for a few weeks now, I doubt we’d have enough for one team let alone two.

They could try to get VFL players from other clubs or maybe even some VFL reserves players. Even if they ended up with less than 18 a side it still could be beneficial 'match practice' for TDK and Doc.

It's 10:40pm and the Owies Tribunal case is still being heard.

Higgins gets tackled gets pinged for holding the ball and Owies gets a free.
Higgins gets up, doesn't require a concussion test and 2 mins later gets a lightning handpass (doesn't fumble it) from Zak Jones and in an instant twirls around and snaps the winning goal. Pretty much all in 1 motion.
Michael Christian doesn't like the tackle and gives Owies 1 week off. Time to give it up Michael and get yourself a real job.

O'Farrell (Blues): The closest eyewitness to this was an independent eye ... the umpire didn't give a free kick for rough conduct, but for holding the ball.

O'Farrell says Owies executes an almost identical tackle to Patrick Dangerfield's on Sam Walsh's, which was cleared at the Tribunal.

O'Farrell (Blues) says the extent of force was no more than Liam Jones' tackle on Aaron Cadman, which resulted in a fine rather than suspension.

The perfect tackle is now outlawed. The game is dead honestly
