Starting this one coz lots of excellent comments go out of sight each week in pre, live and post game chats, so please folks Pile On here as the year progresses.

For me, love opening up the ladder and seeing Blues in 2nd spot.
Relishing the gap widening between us and the paltry rest.

I would love to see the drill sessions at training - watching recent games for mine the difference has been how fast the boys move the ball around (at long last), there's always extra players nearby to create the chain then open up more space forward.
Truly Premiership style play!

So they must be practicing this solidly at training?

Loving the invincibility of the forwards, Harry's new "perfection" at goal kicking, Charlie as always just racking them up but also the smalls stretching the heck out of defenders and jagging plenty of their own.

P.S.
oh and of course you just Know I'll chuck a few stats in here along the way...

I look forward to the Ghost's stats from this time of the year to the GF.

I'm loving the 2024 squad. I enjoy the Depth of the squad because The 2024 squad is a Premiership squad.

At one stage Carlton had 16 out injured and we were still winning games, but the media didn't give us credit. When we, rarely lost, the injuries list was dismissed by media, and some fans rode the coat tails of the media headlines, and the blame was apportioned blame to Andrew Russell and Michael Voss for all injuries, inept coaching for selecting 2 rucks, for selecting Young, and Fantasia, a weak game plan, for lacking tactical nous ... anything but the injuries.

The kids have matured. The list has matured. Coach continues to add layers and developing players to play in more than one position. Has been since 2022. Building a Premiership team takes time, and learnings.

We now have players on ALL lines who can run all day (15kms plus), even Weitering ran 15.4 kms last week, Kemp does, Harry does, plus 8 others: the addition of Elijah and Cincotta have improved our run, which means the sub is a "break glass" option in the Finals, not the be all to end all like some make out.. Have a look at the last couple months, the sub hasn't changed the course of the game ie has no bearing on our performance at all, not since the round 1 game when Doc was replaced by Carroll. Andrew Russell I salute you. It is all coming together at the right end of the season like last year, but this time we WILL be top 4.

All fans have their faves but weirdly some fans despise the selection of some players, yet the players are performing, and the coach has proven to know more than the fans.

The Club is aligned from top to bottom. This feels as good, if not better than the 1995 campaign...imo. Win the flag and the Cripps Legend is born. I have complete faith in every single player in the first 30 in the Carlton Squad to perform on GF day. Some are going to miss selection on the last day; that's life.

In Vossy and Russell I trust.

Over to you Ghost. :smoking:

For the most part, I'm just loving the feeling of my club being relevant, being exciting and making decisions that evoke pride not despair. I try not to get too hung up on when #17 happens. I learned my lesson from watching Liverpool FC break their 30-year drought, expending more energy being anxious that we'd @#$%&! it up than enjoying the moment. So instead I revel in the big crowds, the importance attached to each game, the prime timeslots.

One of the biggest pleasures is seeing players we had dismissed as failures or deep-deep depth being restored as vital cogs through changes in role - e.g. only 12 months ago we all though Lachie Fogarty was a VFL player counting the days to delisting, now he's the first name on the team sheet. Cincotta was just keeping the seat warm, now it's his throne. Williams looked increasingly like the weak link in defence, then became a dangerous forward. Kemp was a jack of all trades, now a master at CHB. It just brings such a sense of positivity and purpose to the club.

We've always had our haters but they've mostly treated us with contempt these past two decades.

We still have a way to go to prove ourselves but what I'm really enjoying atm is smelling their fear...

Having a Coach I can be proud of whenever he speaks.

Having a Leadership Group I can be proud of whenever they speak. Crippa, Walshy and Weits.

Having a CEO I can be proud of whenever he speaks.

Our 'No DH' policy. You can go through our list and be proud of them all. That is saying something.

We are finally in good hands, regardless of the result.

Regards Cazzesman

I'm loving seeing younger Carlton supporters than me, enjoying the footy. There is a generation of people born post, say, 1992, who've known nothing but shit with a couple of false dawns along the way.

It's not the fans' fault we've been rubbish & no set of our supporters deserves happiness more than our younger gen.

For the record...

No other team in history has ever catapulted up 8 rungs of the ladder in only 3 weeks (10th to 2nd) like Carlton did this year!

Last year's team took 5 weeks to jump 8 rungs, 6 weeks to jump 10

A cohesive unit finding ways to triumph in adversity, not just when things are cruisy - a team and club to believe in.

1: The roar
2: The kids - especially Cowan, really enjoy watching this kid play.
3:The captain - we have a genuine leader.
4: The coach - because he is getting us to play the way he played - and that was a very special way to play. I was worried about Voss, real worried, but full credit, he has learnt how to impart his DNA while letting others work to their strengths.
5: Relevance. @#$%&! are we relevant or what!
6: How no one asks me how I feel about Carlton anymore...they don't want to know, which makes me so happy to chat about the club.
7: Tough football. We have never been a dirty side but at our best we play a bruising style and I have enjoyed seeing its return.
8: The spread - I just search for how many goal kickers now, like the old days the spread is fantastic.
9: Weiters - I love watching him play.
10: The new Hollands - what a @#$%&! pick up!

Not being pitied or laughed at. Not for me, but for all the young supporters who weren't around when winning flags was what Carlton was known for.
Of our four kids, three are hard-core Carlton, and I love most that they're getting some reward for their support.
(The 4th isn't interested in footy at all.)

I feel the same way.

This club has spoiled me since 1968, hence my quest to spoil it back.

So glad the kids are experiencing the Blues surge which started in 2022, and its still only just starting....with all the champions, they like to send us...

So nice to start the week with a good smacking of an old foe under the belt and a wistful gaze at a healthy ladder position...

Was down at the club this morning with my daughter at the shop, cashing our 25 buck vouchers finally.

Bruce Doull was at the club.

Serious goosebumps. Didn't think he was the type to take a photo so didn't go down that path but shook his hand and left it at that. The guy has presence.
