Sensible changes. Glad to see Bam Bam back in. Built for finals and he was in epic form before he got injured. Motlop gives us another genuine goal threat which we will need with Harry, Martin, JSOS out

Happy with side

I would have brought Hollands onto a wing for extra run and made DC or Fogarty sub but no big deal.

On paper we are better. Now just need to produce

With the dees going small JSOS missed on any chance for selection.

Will one of Marchbank, McGovern, or Kemp play forward to give us a shorter backline and stretch theirs?

Hollands sub for his run.

Immaterial really, but Sam Durdin is an interesting emergency. Maybe waiting to see if Melbourne play ducks and drakes and bring in that big gumby cauliflower Schache as a late change.

Why is there an ex demon player umpiring this match?

Throw Charlie on a wing. Disrupt their set up and move Langdon or Hunter off one wing, and Tomlinson probably goes with him.

TDK out of the square and Gov as the lead up target. Forces one of May/Lever to play deeper and more accountable, or they swing Smith back.

I noticed that. I think it’s just having a tall as an emergency as rest are runners

No one else on the list from 2006. Would have played with Doc and Crippa at the Northern Blues.

He was gone by end of footy season 2013. Cripps and Docherty didn't arrive at Carlton until end of 2013/start of 2014.

Interesting that it’s SD as the tall emergency ahead of Silvagni (who Voss said this morning is available for selection, albeit underdone) and Young (who has played 15 games this season, whereas SD has played 0 games).

I reckon Kennedy has been brought in as a forward, to save us screwing with a settled defence (even though I didn't mind the idea of McGovern forward). We've got plenty of mids, & we were too slow with both he & Hewett on the ball back when we were losing.

A bit out of left field, but what about a Cottrell or a Kennedy on Lever as a defensive forward?
