:-)

i wonder if Maynard had a card written out by a PR agent with his lines to say on it also.

i'm actually leaning towards the brayshaw thing is such a distraction, they might not have the heart for the battle like we will. they only have to be 2% distracted and we'll rip them.

having just read the AFL summary, i think collingwood and Maynard’s evidence is a crock of shite and he purjured himself saying he jumped straight into the air. he didn’t he jumped at about 45° to the vertical directly at Brayshaw to both smother and intimidate. once he left the ground he only noticed that the ball was being carried by a player who was licking it and “oh shit he’s in my way”. oh please. maynard launched his 90-100 kilos from those tree trunk thighs and once he left the ground as a projectile at that angle there was no way he could alter the vector of his momentum.

all the lane changing evidence is a complete distraction. lots of players turn slightly away from goal when they kick. that changes their momentum. maybe Bradshaw was attempting to avoid the falling tree limb directed at his neck and shoulders? it’s all irrelevant because it was Maynard who created a dangerous situation, football act or not. and he has form leaving the ground and taking a blindsided Neal Bullen in the head in 2022.

Maynard launched his body at the kicker to smoother/intimidate/cause a misdirected kick. Brayshaw was running fast toward Maynard. AFL council and Gleeson didn’t ask the right questions and a proxy debate was had about him turning his body or not fending off with an arm.

if maynard had run sideways into a marking contest in an dangerous attempt to spoil taken someone’s head out with his shoulder and they were concussed for two minutes then he’d be gone for three weeks or more. funny how these incidents keep happening to Maynard but not other defenders who are very careful compared to 80s and 90s.

what a joke of a trial.

With Harry and Martin out JOS obviously comes back, plus wouldn't be against running Kemp up forward either.

It'll either fire them up or flatten them. A lot of energy wasted on it.

We cannot mess with Kemps position. He is young, and only has been getting confidence in the backline.

We cannot now throw him forward.

TDK can go forward. We should bring in Kennedy to go forward. Motlop starts too.

Move them around.

TDK to tag Gawn, Pitto do the primary centre bounce work.

Tom will run off the big oaf nicely and block his around the ground marking.

We will belt them in this one.

Agree. I can't see us making any major changes or even bringing in underdone players

Our side the last 10 weeks has been about structure and playing role. We will go with fit players to fill the holes. I struggle to see more than the 2 forced changes and as much as I rate them I'm not not sure we will bring in Jack or Kennedy

We've lost two forwards, so we'll bring in two forwards...

100% agree with this. We nearly destroyed Weitering early days by sending him forward. Lost all his confidence and took a while to get it back. You move players when they’re failing in their current position, ie Liam Jones. Kemp is settled down back and a key part of our defence

From the training photos it appears that Cripps is still wearing the rib protective 'mattress'. I hope he is getting close to full fitness as we will need him at or near his best Fri night.

JSOS ruled out apparently.

Bam Bam it is then if he's fit.

Kemp came with the ability to play both ends, and midfield too. Only saw him once forward, pre-season match admittedly, looked very much at home and did a good job. I was thinking Kemp in Martin's role.

We didn't have Harry against Melbourne when we beat them last time so it is Martin from that game we are looking to cover.

Sources: Jack Silvagni will not come into the side on Friday night after failing his final fitness test. Carlton had initial optimism & early this week it seemed he would return to play his 1st Final having ticked off all other milestones, but couldn't get over the final hurdle.
