I was there. Thank you everyone for doing my venting for me.
I've sat through some frustrating close losses over the years but that had to be the most depressing, knowing what was at stake and how much control we had over so many aspects of the game and still blowing it, with some really ridiculous brain fades, against an arch enemy who really shouldn't have got out of jail this time.
But it feels like something decent is coming together. It seems like a few educated tweaks, as well as a positive and more confident mindset on the part of the playing group, can get us near the top of the table fairly soon. I'll cling to that, and hope this result hurts the group enough to seriously make amends.
Go Blues.
Two weeks in a row we had the game won and blew it with brain dead decision making. If Walsh had played we we would have won, but regardless of that we had more of the ball and blew it through stupid decision making in the last quarter. Deserved what we got sadly. Voss needs to teach them how to close a game down, if he knows how to, which I seriously doubt. Most other teams know how to do it but we don't and Voss doesn't. After coaching at Brisbane for 5 years and assistant coaching at the Power for ? years it looks like he has learnt nothing. Have not seen any stats but I get the impression that we are close to elite with conceding goals in the last minutes of a quarter, over many years including the pre and current Voss era.
