Delighted we shut down Liam Ryan completely.

No idea who Plowman was on, but his shit effort in the middle and a few other errors were not good, but our midfield pressure was awesome, and they didn’t isolate Ryan on him.

Now we turn up next week again.

Ended up being a thoroughly enjoying day at the footy.

The tension of the third though wasn’t fun. They were on top, had territory and we were hanging on for dear life. All after dominating early. Second quarter was pretty awful.

Last quarter was brilliant. To absolutely dominate was a welcome surprise.

Any win against that mob is worth celebrating. Seeing a win in person with my boy will always be precious.

Up the @#$%&! baggers!

I agree that the second 1/4 was far from great, but to put it in perspective they only outscored us by 4 straight goals in that period, and as it was couple of those were from umpiring howlers.

Plus they kicked everything. Literally nothing was missing. Can't rely on that for the whole game and once our pressure game returned we were far too good.

Cripps Kennedy Hewett Cerra Walsh all had good games

Has that even happened this season or has 1 always been out injured

Newnes. Corky

didn’t stop a radio commentator (on MMM or sen iirc) given newnes a few possessions in the final quarter, one of them a pass to Hayes, the medi-sub. no one bother to correct him.

Pros:

Fast start. Mature win.
Charlie, Harry, SOJ, Docherty, Fisher, Newman, Young and O'Brien.
The midfield. Kennedy and Cerra in particular. Cripps' last quarter.
Great to see Durdin hit the scoreboard.

Cons:

Leaked scores far too easily in the 2nd quarter. Aided by some home crowd umpiring.
Plowman was poor again.
Saad was quiet. So was Weiters.
Even though a few of his touches led to goals, Honey barely touched it again. Pity he couldn't get on the scoreboard, because he just needs AFL game time and confidence.

Of all the pro’s you had to choose from, O’Brien is an interesting selection

Gave up 3 scores in 3 quarters of afl football

Pretty amazing defensive effort, that. Bar the second quarter a good day for the boys

The tv commentators were calling him as O’Brien.

I think that was Saad’s job, which is why he was so quiet also, sacrificed his own game for the team.

But I thought he was a selfish player who doesn't defend?

That's probably the deliciousness of this season. There seems to be a plan b,c,d etc. Previously if things didn't work out it was almost like they stuck with it out of spite.

Interesting about Cripps. Was good but I would have had Cerra and probably Hewett ahead of him

Which explains why Saad was quiet

The home town umpiring was in force, the worst 50m I've seen in weeks got them their first goal, thwn later they scored another one from a 7.5m kick being paid a mark

Both were absolutely shocking decisions.

Harry was good but I would have given the votes to Doc.

Why did Shannon Hurn get votes? And yes Docherty was unreal, i would have given him even more votes than Cripps or even Kennedy.

I try and look at both sides and thought Hurn deserved votes. Very good.

Agree that Docherty should have been in the votes somewhere. He is as vital to our backline as Stewart is to Geelong's.
