Give Kennedy a rest as he must be carrying something,

Bring in a runner, any runner. If its Dow, tell him "if you run both ways, spot for the rest of the year".

The one day we play Saturday afternoon. Where am I? On a plane to Helsinki at 12.15pm on Saturday. Could have been played at night so I could watch it during my stopover in Singapore but no, they had to put it Saturday afternoon....lol.

Really , its all about our midfield getting there shit together isn't it . They must know by now that TDK aint a good tap ruckman . FFS boys , work it out ..........................and get a hard tag on Brayshow coz he is killing it at the moment .

If Pittonet isn't ready we need to play Mirkov. We need another ruck to help our mids. No mistake since Pittionet went down our midfield work has dropped.

Martin needs to be dropped. His efforts were appalling.

Hope Cerra is back and hopefully a few of Setterfield Hayes Dow Motlop Stocker Kemp step up this weekend and show they want a spot

So, Durdin and Martin under an injury cloud.
That's normal.

We played crap in the first 45 minutes against Tigers, but still could have won.
Plenty of spirit amongst our boys: injuries or not.
Players know Tigers game was the one that got away, and they know why.

Taberner returns for them....so Taberner and Lobb in the forward line to be matched up by Plowman and Young.
WE have to win clearances. I expect Cripps Waksh and Hewett to bring their best and have the ball going our way.

WE have to win.

Turn the tables on the round 6 loss to them and for deliberately hurting Pitto.

Our home game. Maybe umps might be fairer towards us...give us the rub of the green...coz that's what cheating pricks do.

I didn't think I'd be saying this but maybe the midfield needs Setterfield back. He was playing when we were in form early in the season.

Need more from our small forwards when we're not going well. It feels like they've been missing in all our losses or poor halves.

All that said, we play Marvel well. Quietly confident about this game.

There was good reason why he was dropped after the Freo game in round 6. His form didnt warrant a spot in the team after below par performances against Port and GCS prior to Freo....imo.

He didn't look fit enough (physical), or daring enough (mental).

If he's fit and confident, he has a good chance to return.
Lets see if he can play 2 good games in a row in the vFL.

With our injuries (not that that ought to be an excuse!) and the hard run home and the evenness of the competition this year our season is slipping away so this game stating the obvious is massive.

I suspect the opposition have figured out our clearance work so the coaches and players need to respond to being belted in the centre (previously our 1 iron) for weeks now.

If we don't se a response it'll be a bit depressing. 95% above shoulders folks.

Durdin to miss a month and Thomas a test.
Lose this and it will be hard to make the 8.

it’s possible to make the eight if we lose tomorrow but need to beat Geelong and either of Brisbane or Melbourne.

i like what Jack Martin does a lot. but i don’t see him doing that much of it on the replays. i know you can’t really tell without being at the game what role someone is playing for the team, but does he do enough? i know forwards dépend of the ball being delivered to them and he’s not the go to marking receiver. i might be out of line.

is there anybody in the 2s who’d be worth considering as a HF to give Jack a chance to freshen up with a run against lesser opponents? Probably not. not much depth for players who can play tall up front or down back really.

Assume you mean Martin for the test? Bugger about Durdin, so much for the hope that he might not miss time.

That AFL injury list can be misleading, shows Geelong with 14 injuries to our 10 (or 12 now after Thursday night) but 4 of those are "available", 3 are "test" and 4 are "TBC". Of the remaining 3, two are one-weekers and the other is a 3-weeker. So they could have a near clean bill of health, but their supporters will no doubt see the 14 and think they're @#$%&! heroes or something. :D

Agree. whatever will be will be.

seems like we invoked the wrath of the injury gods this year.

i’m overall pleased with the massive lift on last season. i think that’s 50% down to new playing personnel plus a few younger players lifting and 50% down to new coach’s and game style thats more contested and competitive.

Agree Mick, we must protect our defenders as much as possible and lock the ball in our forward area. Our midfield has lost it's mojo and as a result the ball is moving quickly in to our defence placing huge pressure on our defenders - who by the way I think are doing ok.

I know we need Silvagni as a back up ruck but he would be so much better if he could focus on his forward craft, we are really missing a mid size hit up forward - unfortunately Martin is not doing this. We have the talls and smalls up forward.

Yes, sorry I meant Martin for the test.
