This is directed to thryleon or anyone else who is advocating for this EGM. It is a genuine request for answers as a long-standing member of the club:
How is the ticket going to make us a more attractive destination for coaches and players from other clubs? Please provide specifics, including reference to the particular background, experience & skill sets of each candidate and how they will improve our club.
Please don’t speak in general terms or refer to historical events which cannot be changed, please give details of the ticket’s plan for the next 10 years and the credentials of each member of the ticket. I don’t want you to tell me what’s wrong with the current board. I want you to explain to me why the ticket members are the best people to run my football club and exactly what they intend to do if elected.
Also, please explain the timing of your challenge, noting that it is occurring during the trade period. Why is it in the best interests of the club to hold an EGM in October?
I am a nobody and cannot anwer any of your queries.
All I know, is that i have seen this board tighten their stranglehold on the club, and fail to hold themselves accountable for anything they have done to deliberately hinder the process of the football team being managed.
When Teague was appointed, Judds training wheels comments with his media hat on, saw him undermine the sitting senior coach publically possibly to manipulate the decision making process. He may have disagreed with the decision to appoint Teague, but its clear that the board failed to unite on this subject.
We go through a process to appoint Bolton, remove Neil Craig after 2 years, and then wonder why Bolton starts to go backwards with list turnover after list turnover.
We have Teague coach 50 games in 2.5 years, garner a rather impressive winning record for a club with 8 years of losing culture to contend with and over turn, and just as things were getting to the halfway mark of his tenure, we decide to pull the rug out from under him. I am not absolving Teague for his tactical short comings. The term defense wins championships has been around for a lot longer than he has been coaching or playing football, but to look at the way we have decided to oust senior coach after senior coach, and then let John Barker sit underneath all of them failing time after time is just one reason why this mob have proven they are not up to it.
To question the timing of the EGM is warranted. It should have happened years ago, and has been on the cards from February of this year, so to see the club perform in true Carlton Football Club fashion has simply triggered the faithful to state, enough is enough:

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/ ... ecf95b8af9Rather than waiting for the board to change its ways (which it has only to continually arrive at the same outcome) its time to change the board.
When you talk about “the board” who are you actually talking about? Remember half the board are brand new with no history to refer to.
While the EGM may change the membership of the board, it will still be the board.
