Unfortunately, not true in the AFL world. Sad but true and there is not one entity or person in the industry that respects us any longer. Again, very sad.

If you look at this all vaguely logically....... :yikes:

I think the Blues will land Clarkson.

By Season 2023 I think his options might be limited unless he wants to move his family to Qld. Based on some newspapers reports I know he has 3 kids that are now approx 21, 19, 17.

None of the top Victorian Teams should have Coaches Vacancies.

I suspect the Saints will be stronger next year so Ratts should be safe.

Carlton, Coll, Melb, Geelong, Ess, Haw, Doggies, Rich are pretty much lockins for 2023.

So that leaves Gold Coast in 2023. Maybe the Crows in Adelaide.

A few Questions to be asked...........Do I want to coach again?........Answer seems to be Yes. What are my Options in 2023?
Do I want to move my family Interstate during? The answer to that is the Kicker.

Big dollars, Big membership, MCG, Big development at Icon, what's not to love

Regards Cazzesman

Ive been considering this alot ...

I really haven't liked the way Lyon has gone about it ...

Clarko has handled everything better despite the media thirst for blood ...

I'm all for clarko

But I think id rather keep teague and get the right structure around him, than Lyon

Again, I think the way teague has handled this situation has been good considering

Lyon just doesn't sit right for me .
Something about it seems like the wrong move.

Yep. I'm not on the Lyon train either. Would much rather board the Clarkson Express. Which can probably be read as a sign of how much I don't want Lyon, rather than how much I want Clarkson.

From everything I’ve read about Clarkson he’s very good at getting the right people around him and not scared to help them develop.

We could use a bit of that.

EFA

100% agree. And if, as I have read in some other posts on the site that Cripps isn't a Teague fan well, too bad. You are the Captain - either get on board 100%, step down from the Captaincy or move on. We cannot have the tail wagging the dog.

We can actually.

It’s be going on since the mid 90s.

We’re masters at it!

Also, wasn't the strength of the 95 team that Parkin empowered the players more than ever he had previously?

A different time and a different playing group, of course.

Tom Morris says some on the board are cooling on Ross Lyon because of how he left Fremantle and how that relates to Carlton Respects: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/ros ... 4zcbi.html

Hard to see Teague staying now given his manager's comments about Cripps. If Clarkson says no and Lyon looking shaky then who else should be in the running?

I found a pic on the back page of yesterday's HS somewhat ironic. It showed Stephen Kernahan being chaired off after his winning kick after the siren in 1987.
Chaired off by Harry Madden and IAN AITKEN.

Which was ok with the previous generation as it was driven by hard nut professionals like Williams, Kernahan, Dean and others who understood from a team perspective what was required but the generation of younger players like Kouta, Campo etc were given that latitude too young I reckon and weren’t ready for it. Maybe we were just short a couple of extra leaders and it would have been fine but I haven’t seen that sense of unity in a Carlton side for a long time.

I love David Parkin but I’ve always felt like that’s where the rot first crept in and “we” started to become “me” at Carlton and it’s not that surprising how many coaches have been torched since then in retrospect.

I am sure if we do choose Clarkson the press will be full of stories about his role in the Battle of Britain and preventing Fev getting his century and how this decision will “spread disunity throughout the club”.

I am sure you are right.

Its a headline. That's what the parasites live for...no story, no substance...just a headline.

Not that this is in anyway relevant to the topic but I was at that game.
