Look.....everyone...just look at the basket case of a place we have become on the field...week after week....NOTHING!!!...nothing to walk away from and reminisce about for the week...remember the feeling you used to get from feeling proud about telling everyone that oh were a Carlton supporter!! It has pained me so so much to put up with this crap for so so long. I ask you this: are you really satisfied with the mediocrity that has engulfed this club - especially under the watch of DT and to a lesser extent Mark Lod...we finally have a new president!!!! A relatively young man who actually has a clue on how to run a successful organisation....Think of the glory days...I know it was 20 +!years ago but how can you not get excited about the prospect of a fair dinkum legitimate coach in Lyon who is chomping at the bit to get back into the caper and grab some success. I don’t understand why so many people are having reservations and qualms about this and that...?....we have just had our first proper exhaustive review that will give us a new and kick arse football department to work with a young and exciting talented list...things are on the up, I can assure you! I’ve supported this club with a microscopic eye for the best part of 30 years. I know the fire still burns with many to see this club do well again...there are still plenty of people out there that can remember our once great club. They will be out there still doing there but to help this team be great again. This club is done with its teething issues of failed coaches and recruiting. Our standards are going to improve again so that we are in the mix again to win flags. This weekend I will be relieved that the rot is over...next week a new era begins! I ask you to find that long lost hope again and join me in embracing a new chapter...a chapter where we will not be let down like we have been for too long...long enough!!! Let’s reclaim our bluebagger swagger again!! It’s not lost...the tide is about to bring it back from far out at sea and we will be confident again to sing our great club song like yesteryear!! Go blues!

That’s what every supporter wants , is to have the bluebagger swag back and going to games expecting to win !!

Hopefully you are right and new chapter begins next week ,,,

IMO
Ross is our next coach Frank.
He virtually announced it without formally doing so.
The mail around is that Clarko will have the year off.
I loved watching ED's face when Ross said things would have been different if Ed was still Pres.
He was bleeding.
Called Collingwood unstable

That was gold tv , announcing himself as the next coach of Carlton without saying it , and telling Ed mchin that he told the pies thanks but no thanks so good !!

Side note , the Eddie betts comments how sps has been frustrated this year with playing down back ...

SPS has been playing as a mid and HFF for most of this year, does that mean he’s now happy with the club and happy with the coach?

SPS is a conditional footballer. He needs to pull the finger out and start producing. Otherwise his talent will be wasted.

I am getting a bit tired from all the excuses generated by the players at this club. Selfless behaviour should be the mantra going forward.

I've met Ross Lyon (like a lot of others here) briefly. Seems very football driven and doesn't get caught up in romance. I think there is a TISM song that differentiates Lyon from Clarkson

Tend to agree.
At some stage a player needs to create their own destiny.
I know that sounds corny but you know what I mean.
SPS in my opinion lacks 100% physical conviction and intent.
Call it hunger.
I can only imagine how hard and ruthless AFL football is, to be successful.
Not everyone has that drive and self belief or whatever it is that makes them succeed.
SPS would be in the top 1% on talent at the club but for drive and output he would be further down the list.

Thanks for that Cazz.
I'd be happy with Lyon.

What's that got to do with this conversation? We're talking about music here.

With a sucker punch like that I reckon you'd be firmly in the Clarkson camp?

Gotta feel for Teaghey.

Walks through the front door..............

Wife.........How'd it go?
DT...........They kicked 19 goals in a row.

Wife.........Oh! Well, I doubt anyone is interested in such a basket case Club with 25 years of failure and infighting behind it.
DT...........Weeeeeellllllllllll.

Wife.........Oh! I'll find you a cardboard box for your desk come Monday.

It's a Tough gig at the top of the Food Chain.

In all honesty this might finally, finally, finally be the real 'Wizard Behind the Curtain' moment for the Carlton Football Club.
By the end of 2024 if Clarkson or Lyon hasn't turned this club around, then Sayers might as well hand the keys back in. It will be proven once and for all that the Board and the Wealthy Power Brokers can't get out of their own way, to help the Club they all apparently have love since birth.
