I am at a loss with this Teague debate.
Following my lunch yesterday with Roosy's mate, talking Carlton and winning Flags, I had lunch today with an ex player, living in sydney, and like Cazz he said there's a culture problem at the club.
Sacking Teague wont fix it. Its been stuffed because of Elliot and co...similar to keogh's call.
Flags are hard to win. Chopping and changing coaches before they''ve had a chance to get the ducks lined up doesn't help.
Then I read Mahers opinion on SEN.
I agree, Flags aren't easy.
Part of me wants to let Teague see it through for another year, the other part says get a great coach if they think they can fix things.
I think we are all impatient at Carlton,
Recent history shows that sticking fat with Goodwin in 2021, and Hardwick in 2017,and Clarkson back in 2006 paid dividends.
Get some good people, qualified to work of defence and create synergy with Teague's attacking plan, would suit me fine.
Ive been changing my mind after every loss though. I need a Crystal Ball and you guys on TC aren't helping.
History has also shown that replacing coaches such as Brendan Mccartney with Luke Beveridge (Premiership in his second year), Roos with Longmire (premiership in second year), Worsfold with Simpson (grand final 2nd year), Harvey with Lyon (grand final in 2nd year), Bomber with Chris Scott, Leppitsch with Fagan and Worsfold with Rutten most recently has also paid dividends...
So who knows? The most important thing is you make the decision based on all the facts and information in front of you at the time and I think there is simply nothing to suggest Teague has what it takes and the culture has basically gotten even worse. Plus there is simply too much coaching talent out there that is available right now (Clarkson, Lyon, Pyke, Buckley, Brad Scott, Leppitsch (as assistant)) that we'd be remiss not to ask the question at least. Compared to when Hardwick and Goodwin were under pressure.
