Maybe BJ but with Clarkson in play at the end of 2022 and maybe earlier perhaps that changes things who knows

Caroline Wilson called it at the start of the year , clarko to the blues

Teague won’t be the senior coach next year

Even if he is not the coach the vitriol directed towards him is quite unacceptable.

I have no feelings on weather Clarkson should be coach or not but the clubs MO to hire "Experience Premiership Coach" has fallen to the wayside with Pagan and Malthouse.. will Clarkson be any better?

I have my reservations but likely be over the hill when Weitering and Harry are 28 and at the peak of their careers. Risky appointment and has already turned the club down two years ago.

Hawthorn forcing him to retire/quit are yet again ahead of the curve. Careful what you wish for. Supporting and developing our own leaders is the only way to go IMO.

Lets not forget Clarkson in his first three years had Jason Dunstall as Football Director and was ticking off everything Clarkson was doing.

Yep... vitriol definitely not acceptable.

Good point Walsh.

I'll keep an eye out for any and let you know if I see it.

I think Teague is more important to the football club than one eyed haters

I'm really not a fan of the whole clarkson issue

Pagan .. didn't work (though he has a shitstorm to deal with)
Malthouse didn't work, he gutted the club and created his own shit storm

Don't think clarkson will work either ..

I think teague, with right set up will work. Players signing on shows that the club is where they want to be ..

It’s not personal about the coach no one dislikes him per se indeed it is the opposite but we have reservations as to his capacity to do the job simple as that and given the results this season this is a reasonable assessment.
Give him to the end of the year and see whether there is improvement and development of game plan and strategies but we risk more years of mediocrity if we don’t act if he isn’t the one to take us forward

It’s a reasonable sensible and realistic approach in my view

Thats a little better than your past get rid of him and change this and that - personally calling him deficient and other such nonsense not only you btw. But the constant one eyed unbalanced negativity on a Supporter forum is disappointing to say the least. Don't know why the club allows you to sponsor players when all you guys talk about is one eyed negativity towards the club.

May I remind you we were lucky not to get the wooden spoon in 2019 thats how far back we were.

Don't mention the spoon of 2019. We've moved on since then.

Matt Rowell: Carlton supporter from birth. Just kidding.

Walsh and Rowell ... yeah, nah .. lets move on.

We have Walsh & Weitering; Charlie & Harry; Martin & Williams; Saad & Docherty; Kemp & Philp......we'll be right.

When you win 7 games you are not lucky not to win the spoon.

If we don't sort the culture, get some drive and motivation, something we haven't had for most of the last 20 years, then it won't matter who the coach is.

Re: Clarko. Is this another older highly successful coach coming here for the superannuation cheque? Sounds like a path we have trodden a few times. Maybe Ian Aitken can be his senior assistant...lol. What happens if, theoretically, we win the 5 winnable/50-50 games and sneak into the 8. Then Teague won't be going anywhere. If he did go would it be Ratten/Malthouse all over again? Teague has been easily our 2nd best coach, win/loss, this century taking over after we won 4 from the previous 44 with a god awful culture.

Good post.

Please look up the word vitriol. Bitterness, Malice...I mentioned those 2 words today in a post.
Its not coming from me. I can't remember whose behaviour I was describing.

The gap analysis includes Teague. Its what happens on club forums everywhere.
People have opinions on what needs to improve. Its not vitriol. Mostly guess work.

Once again Walsh you should read what people post
Please read carefully what people say as you have a flair for misrepresentation and then you resort to invective -it doesn’t add to the debate
Can I also suggest you post when you actually have something worthwhile to say just continuing to post for the sake of posting without any nuance in your arguments or anything sensible to add means that people just ignore your posts

Once again try to be a little objective in a results business the club hasn’t liked the teams results this year and possibly last so has instigated a review mid season of the footy dept which includes the coaching group
Do you think the club would go through this external view if they didn’t think the team was underperforming and there is a number of deficiencies with the coaching group in terms of performance and game plan
If the external review recommends Teague to continue then fine but I think given Buckley and Clarkson are available if the performance of the group doesn’t significantly improve and the players don’t turn up like they haven’t in many games this year for the rest of the year his tenure is in trouble.
We get you don’t like it but that is the realistic assessment at this moment
All of us will be thrilled if he survives and takes us into the finals next year but he and the team need to improve significantly and he has his destiny in his hands so there is no one else to blame but himself after 2 years if he doesn’t succeed and is jettisoned .

This may turn out to be the right path.
I don't want Clarkson as coach for his retirement cheque. @#$%&! that for a joke.
I want a coach who is not stubborn, has a great game plan and is nimble enough and smart enough on game day to get us a win.

Eloquently put frank.

That's the third time you've reached out to Walshy in a calm measured manner seeking for him to understand how to read the room and to also have a look inwards too.
I've tried, but not as eloquently.

We are all Carlton supporters here.
We welcome everyone's opinion, right or wrong.
Everyone is free to express their opinion.
Some have faith in Teague, some don't, with reasons given: both sides.
Some see the reasoning and virtues of a mid season Review (put eloquently frank) and some don't.

Lets see what happens.
If Teague survives, then its for good reason.
None of us know if he will or wont.

Still 7 rounds of footy to go.
Teague's players look to be playing with purpose in the final quarter of last 2 weeks; that's a good thing.
Go Blues. Finals still possible: just.

He is not needed at Carlton. Ever.

He is shit without his onfield leaders calling the shots: Hodge, Lewis, Mitchell Roughy.

You're actually fairly balanced - I dont see much vitriol from you. But I also understand some can get caught up in the aimless and brainless blaming. You do very little of that - see you as a gent actually.

I suggest you go through your posts on the subject before pointing fingers and back peddling. Like some here see keogh in a specific manner is not dissimilar at how I look at the likes of you. I did not force myself to see it this way but the constant barrage of one sided and unbalanced shot gunning against a young coach is a bit to stomach and question loyalties of this website and its agendas.

Having a crack at frank?

Priceless.

You might need a new hobby.

Many people have responded to you in very measured ways.

Try supporting the club instead of the coach and see where that takes you.

Like frank I hope he starts winning and takes us to our next premiership but if not he should be accountable like anyone else.

I am not having a crack at him I just think his views are negatively unbalanced and if destablizing the club is your view of progress then I have the right to be assertive on that ludicrous subject. The only reason you want the club destabilized is because you are not willing to support.

.... and it's s little bit early for accountability and other nonsense. It takes at least 2-3 years to stabilize a game plan and drill a squad. The history behind that is endless - even the new super coach Simon Goodwin had to stabilize his crop in four years.

We need our best players fit and in form like the Demons and Bulldogs
We need the right players executing their roles like the Demons and Bulldogs

What does this have to do with Teague and whether he can coach or not?

Supercoach Clarkson is sitting second last - maybe because he doesn't have the cattle prettu much like we don't at the moment as the injury list is too big.

Walsh you are incorrigible I am trying to help you even when you seek to attack me
You are caught up in your own maelstrom and can’t see the wood for the trees

I don’t always get it right as was demonstrated a few weeks ago when I went too hard at Bondi (sorry Bondi I was belligerent and intemperate) but I really think you should argue on the merits and not denigrate people who have a different opinion back up your opinions with facts if possible
Don’t respond to every post and don’t assume that people are necessarily running an agenda or conspiracy theory if they disagree

This is a forum for opinions let’s have yours but make them well reasoned and occasional and bombarding topics with multiple posts with similar themes and then denigrating people for a different view is hardly persuasive

I’m the end if Teague is retained you will be happy and somewhat vindicated but let’s see how season plays out
I don’t think he will do it but if he does it is a great example of perseverance and quiet confidence in his own ability

Im not denigrating you I am denigrating your senseless and shotgun attacks on a young coach...and I am not going to apologise for it.

It is for opinion and respect vast majority of them - I try to take the reasoning and logic behind every issue - not go all in guns blazing without a balanced approach. I dont have to like your opinion I could even hate them and think you're half witted. I mean c'mon lobbying to get a young coach sacked after using VFL and facilities for 15 games is a reasonable opinion in an open forum.? I strongly disagree with assertiveness and question motives.
